Charlton Athletic v Leeds Utd Saturday 28th September 2019 15.00 | The Valley Leeds travel down to South London on Saturday afternoon to play Lee Bowyer's Charlton Athletic. The Whites will be without inspirational veteran Pablo Hernandez. He has a muscular problem which he picked up in the warm up against Derby. Costa is set for his first start of the season. Fit again midfielder Adam Forshaw will be included in the squad, as will Luke Ayling and Tyler Roberts. Having dropped points recently against Derby and Swansea, Bielsa will be looking for a both, a disciplined performance and for chances to be put away which is easier said then done - Leeds record when playing in England's capital is poor to say the least. Here is Bielsa's pre match press conference:- Recently promoted Charlton have made an impressive start to the season picking up 14 points, only three less than Leeds. They too will be looking to get back to winning ways after disappointing results against Wigan and Birmingham. With six points separating the top 11 clubs, surely a win on Saturday is a must!
I’d be pleased with any kind of win, we seem to struggle when we visit London. Forshaw straight back in for me but that’s not the usual Bielsa way so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Shackleton keep his place
I can reduce the pre match debate on this one. I’m going, home tickets bought, so rest easy we always win when I watch us away. (*) (*) except when we don’t, that is
I’m in the home end too. Mate’s a Charlton season ticket holder. Always good to visit Sarf east larndon’s biggest team. My record of success of watching Leeds in London is pretty good too... unless it’s palace for some reason. So everything points to... us fcking up and going down to a late goal after dominating
Awaiting the detailed match reports with eager anticipation. Have to be honest, think we might get turned over in this one.
Yeh sorry tagged the wrong post... But still keen to hear your match report....even if it is from LL's highlights.
My Charlton mate reckons they’ve had the rub of the green so far this season and he’d Be happy with 4th from bottom. We’re missing Pablo, they’re missing Taylor who’s been their star man. Be disappointed not to win this one... but it’s an unpredictable league.
Unfortunately he's just covering his bases. Probably best to prepare yourself for an excess of gloating should they turn us over.
If he was the typical south Londoner we get on here I could expect 6 months of gloating if we lose and not to see him again for a year if we win. But he’s not. Thankfully.
Would be nice to get a different perspective on our away performances. Not naming names but we already know a certain someone's MOTM.
Yeah, I'm in the pub (today off tomorrow), so completely lost. I thought you were going to post reports on the next game. Always said, happy to give my opinions but love to hear from those at the game. Cameras can help in certain occasions but can't see a flow of a game as you people there. Frustrations can still match though
I scan read his highlights to the bit that somehow blames every goal that l we concede is down to the ineptitude of KP, saves me the time and the boredom
Funnily enough, that certain someone was my motm at my last away game. I will call it as I see it jammy... unless a player I like has a bad game or a player I don’t like has a good one... in which case i’ll Call it as I want to see it.
