I'd like to see him back as well, but it's his decision. This place can be frustrating at times, and I've developed a thicker skin on here than I would have in real life. Sometimes I'll just leave it for a few days until what's annoying me has blown over. If mito has had enough of it then it's up to him. There are other posters who I liked who have been driven away too (Frank springs to mind, but there are a few others) and that is equally sad. I think beneath the banter there is a genuine respect for each other amongst most of us, but that isn't always apparent. I don't really understand why so much social media has to be cruel at times (there's a lengthy sociological thesis waiting for that one), but it is what it is, and we either put up with it or get out.
I agree with all of that. I have the luxury that comes with retirement of time on my hands, even so I don't spend a lot of time on here. I think using this site can be addictive and like all addictions it eats away at the addict and becomes all consuming making them say things often with very little thought. What started out as fun, for some, becomes destructive. I like chatting about football and some off topics and get on well with most. Like you saint, when the going gets tough I walk away. A few years ago I had some sleepless nights over personal comments made to me. I don't let that happen anymore. It really isn't worth it. Posting here should be a pastime not an occupation.
Of course it's his decision, saint, and I respect that. I'd like to interact with him, but I can't stand JA 606.
100% and I was addicted to the site for a while. I'm glad I was forced away for a bit, meant I was able to see it and do something about it. I use the site sparingly now compared to before.
