    No one's mentioned Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks yet. Brilliant book.

    Don't know how people have mentioned "To Kill A Mockingbird", it's an awful book. Far too drawn out and contrived, and far too little substance to what is a fairly short novel anyway. :undecided:

    Yeah, I suppose you would enjoy reading a book when you can empathise with the lead character. <laugh>

    <grr>

    Piss off, it's one of my favourite books!

    I'm impressed. I admire you for sticking with it, and for Emily Bronte for writing it. Not for nothing was it the only book she wrote. Even Anne Bronte wrote two novels.

    You can't read a kindle in the bath. Well, you can but if you dropped it that'd be the end of that.

    just finishing re-reading flash for freedom. love the flashman books. flashman's lady is probably my favorite as elspeth takes a more prominant (and funny)role.

    just got into david gemmells' books. great reads, plenty of adventure and action. morningstar and knights of dark renown are exellent.

    Yes you can. Make sure the Kindle is plugged into the mains and everything will work out perfectly.

    I got a Kindle last year, I had about 200 books before that, i have just taking 100 of them to the library and donated them, the kindle is great (and i was very sceptical before I got one).

    As for what I am reading right now.

    Stephen King Lisleys story, and Under the dome. (IT, The Stand, The Shining are still his best works though)
    Stephen Donaldson The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever, I am up to the 2nd chronicles.
    Terry Pratchet Discworld
    Clive Barker Imajica
    Ray Bradbury The Martian Chronicles

    What is the point of donating 100 books to the library? It will be shut down in a few months because ****s like you are buying Kindles instead!

    Not quite - I meant kindle readers may as well burn books - although now you come to mention it they can burn down my library as it's full of old alkies reading the paper and stinking the place out. Where do they think they are FFS - the House of Lords?
