Still think we can do it. They'll be playing games every 3/4 days by then and even just a few changes to their team could make a big difference. Won't be easy but certainly I wouldn't be throwing in the towel yet. Four-tune favours the brave.
Chelsea are playing United and Arsenal are playing Liverpool. Get through and 4 of the top 6 are out.
Meanwhile Villa play Wolves, so one big Midlands club makes it through. The way things are going I wouldn´t rule out Sunderland reaching the final. Let´s hope it is against the red and white team from South Hampshire as I am certain their fans would love another Wembley outing ten months after their previous encounter with the other Hamsphire team.
The (sad?) truth is that Man City u23s probably contain a lot of players who would be playing in the first teams of most PL sides, let alone the players part of their actual 25 man squad. Everyone has been going crazy about how good Foden is and he barely makes the bench, he would probably be one of our best players
Their squad against PNE rested nine of their starters from the weekend...and thus only featured David Silva, Bernando Silva, Phil Foden, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Stirling.
I would've said it depended on who we had the game after, but seeing as that is City away as well we might as well go all out in the cup.
Their 'weaker' team vs Preston was: Bravo Cancelo, Harwood-Bellis, Garcia, Angelino, D Silva, Gundogan, Foden Sterling, Jesus, B Silva They then subbed on Mahrez, Mendy and a youth player. The defence has some less well-known players, but I still think that team would beat us. And I think Pep will play a better defence against a Premier League team. It's the cup though, so let's hope they have an off day and are starting to tire from having to play mid-week games most weeks.
