Maybe when Pool or United are shafted by VAR with the inevitable shiete storm and outpourings of grief that will follow, the authorities will look at how useless it is. The problem with this is, the chance of Pool or United being on the end of a decision like ours at Leicester, is about as likely as a bus full of nuns going lap dancing.

Reality check ... you were not shafted ... under current rules, Son WAS offside ... doesn't matter that it was by a fraction ... if the ball is not over the line by a fraction it is still not a goal ... doesn't depend on the size of the fraction ... thems the rules as they stand ... <cheers>

Surely the primary function and duty of VAR is to highlight and correct 'clear and obvious errors'. In what way was Son offside in a clear and obvious way which shouldn't have been missed by the officials?

He was either offside or he was not.. no middle ground ... so he was offside ... not giving it was a clear and obvious error by the assustant referee / linesman ... the end ... it's the offside rule that needs reviewing ... VAR got it right under the current rule ...

Can you be sure of that? It has been reported that the current technology is not be good enough to measure margins as small as the 14 mm that Son was adjudged to be ahead of the defender, but I agree that it is the law that needs amending.

It would be interesting if Son had scored with part of his body that was adjudged offside, if that would be have been referred to VAR has a potential handball!
