That may be the case however for those MP's with a holyer than thou attitude I seem to remember at the back of my mind that John Major proroged parliament to avoid cash for questions. It would also be interesting to know who's money is behind Gina Miller

The law that was broken was the unwritten constitution. That is the advice given to the Queen by Johnson was unlawful as it violated the core legal principles of the constitution in that it had the effect of frustrating or preventing the ability of parliament to carry out its constitutional functions without reasonable justification.

Can you name the person who was with the Queen at the time, as Johnson hasn't posted what was said and I'm sure the Queen hadn't.

The answer to all our political problems is to get rid of the lot of them and start afresh with no career politicians 2 terms of office allowed only

I think it was Prigg Mogg who saw the Queen to make the request for prorogation on behalf of the Government.

Agreed and that’s why I said with brexit hat off I welcomed the judgment for the future - were he (Major) to attempt it now he could no longer get away with it. I suspect one of the reasons he did get away with it (apart from obviously there was no Supreme Court) was because he was going into an election he was widely predicted to lose and of course did so the ‘ploy’ didn’t work. But it was pretty brass-necked for him to be involved this time to say the least.

You're missing the point, mogg hasn't said what was said, and neither has the Queen, so who can prove anyone lied ?

WJ and I may not (do not) agree on many things but one thing I have to say is that Scotland do bring to the table one thing and that is their very fine, very, very fine whisky and I am all for supporting their industry. I do y best, WJ, I really do.

11 Supreme Court Judges are in a better position than me to answer that one. But I don't think they said anything about lying just that the request was unlawful

Did they give a date on Boris' sentencing then?
And will the grey man Major face retrospective justice?

Now you know full well it's not a criminal offence so there will be no jail time. As for Major, there is no recourse to address his actions as the parliament of 1997 cannot be recalled, but in spite of his best actions he did lose the General Election so I suppose he did get penalised?

Was Boris stitched up, or given wrong advice, or was the right advice given and the 11 judge remainer panel got it wrong under instructions,.

I think that's a good point Chesh, we don't know what was said, or what reasons were given for prorogation.

According to the AG, prorogation was legal and and compatible with the provisions of the NIEF Act 2019.

The remoaners are going to continually say Boris lied, but don't know what he said...........that's hilarious..:emoticon-0140-rofl:
