Inns easy MOTM but that Redders goal was quality! Obafemi has a good game, as did Yosh. In fact, the back 4 looked solid. Impressed by Curtis for Pompey too. Good game. Slightly flattering result but who cares. Those four goals will help confidence in the games coming up.

The 1st, 2nd and 4th goals are absolute quality although the Portsmouth defender was wholly to blame for losing the ball to Redmond. I did not expect the match to be this comfortable. Fair play to Portsmouth for their efforts in the first twenty minutes but the professionalism and fitness demonstrated by Southampton this evening emphasized the gulf in quality. Not quite sure if this match will acquire the cult status of the FA cup tie in 1984 due to the imbalance between the two squads - a mid table premiership team against a League One outfit on the brink of a relegation berth. However, some pay back for the thumping we got at Fratton Park under Redknapp. Fortunately for Saints we were up against a very poor team this evening who should be congratulated for playing above themselves for the first quarter.
Starting to get a bit worried about Adams, even against a bottom end first division side he still looks a bit shaky I really hope he hits some form soon as you can definitely see some quality emerge every now and then
The rest of the season is a bonus now, but I actually fancy us in the cups this season Ralph looks like he is going for them and how refreshing that is!
