To save P*mpey's embarrassment, they aren't quite the smallest band of fans visiting a championship club this week, Braga brought 7 to St Andrews. I see Portsmouth had 0 shots on target aswell
The commentator at the Reading game had a stand behind him which had 4 fans in it. Their gate was just over 15,000. Where have their fans gone?
Reading used to get gates of 5,000 at Elm Park. Has never been a big football hotbed, Oxford used to get much more than them for much of the 70's, 80's and 90's. Reading just attracted the premier league band wagon jumpers and being able to give the away fans up to 4,000 seats at times too.
Be interesting to see how many we take to Hull..willing to bet it will be over 1000 at a conservative estimate.
On this recent evidence of Pompey's away support, perhaps Saints should seriously consider only giving them 1,000 tickets for the game at St Mary's allowing more home fans in and less potential problems for the police/stewards?
I just can't stand this constant harping on about how few Pompey fans actually go to games..... It's really making my sides hurt through laughing.
Surely the fact that they don't go to Pompey games indicates that they have more sense than we previously thought!
haha love it! but would you travel all that way to watch a rubbish side......YES relagation season in championship i attended 6 away games and I work saturdays! it is good being in championship with bigger away followings(not in this case however),stewards were out numbering some teams last year!
