Like a shot. One poor game and two missed sitters doesn't define Bent's career. No one remembers the sitters Lawton, Lofthouse, Greaves, Shearer or Phillips missed. They remember the dozens that went in. Love him or hate him, Bent means goals and we need them.

No, and he has only got 20+ goals twice, once for Ipswich in a 46 game season in the championship, and once for us.

Yes he scores goals, but he isnt as prolific as some on here make out he is.

And if it means breaking our wage structure, only for him to spit his dummy out in a years time asking for more cash, then he can get lost for me.

I say no. Not because he was always a player who needed 4 chances to put one away - he did well for us and would do again.

I say no because of what he did and how he did it. I'm cutting off me nose to spite me face I know. But no. Couldn't have him or Gyan back.

Yes, just to ruin his England career. And yes because of the goals.

    100% NOT.

There can be no way back for him or Gyan in my eyes. If you think I am argumentative about the manager, wait until you see the heights I'd hit if we even discussed taking either of these 2 greedy, backstabbing whores back in January. I hope both their careers plummet from here on in.

Bent had the chance to cement a place in football folklore up here and with a set of fans that went crazy for him to come. I dont recall ANY other player in my lifetime that has been afforded the kind of welcome Bent did and yet he still ****ed us over at the drop of a hat. Gyan is like any other foreigner in the EPL, a complete mercenary. I always knew he'd leave but thought we might see 50 games out of the bastard first.

We must move on and Bruce MUST recruit 2 new forwards in January (if he is still here of course) but not foreigners and not money whores.

Bent always reminded me of Andy Cole in his pomp.
At times he'd look absolutely clueless as if he'd never even seen Football never mind played it. Then a cross would come in he'd scuff it or it would bounce off his shin, knee, knob. And end up in the bloody net.
    It's a gift TBH.
I'd have him back in a flash and in time I may even be able to forgive the twat.

    I'd take him back.

I ideally with Kenwyne & mebs Cisse....

Kenwyne, Bent, Cisse, Gyan, Bendtner, ****ing hell we've had some decent strikers in the last few years...

    BB man,

Kenwyne got lazy. Gyan and Bent got greedy. Cisse? Aye, we let him go and he didn't want to (a rare quality up in our dear Sunderland)

Bendtner is here to prove a point then offski.

    Sad but true.

What you on about move on.

Someone asked a question and i answered it, what's exactly is your point?

Am i not allowed to acknowledge we've had good strikrs, maybe ignore Hurley, Shackleton and Ball as well?

True, but how are the rest of the EPL strikers looking in comparison over the past five years? I'll stand corrected, but I think Bent scored 19 last season and overtook Rooney in the five-year league table. That makes him the top English striker.

But we wouldn't have him here, of course - Noooooo!

huh!! last 5 years not including this year, only PL.

Rooney = 75 goals 45 assists but remember he had Ronaldo who was scoring for fun for Man U in 2 years of that.

    Bent = 59 goals 9 assists

Rooney also does a lot more work for the team than Bent ever will. but i was never comparing them, he just isnt as good as he looks for me.

OK. Name two class forwards who will be available, who will gel.

I honestly cant think of any.

We have to hope and pray what we have now gels, build some sort of understanding.

We are in the clarts otherwise, because to need strikers come Jan has never worked.
