As its a big night for all of us and im busy working all day and wont get home till 6.30 onwards. I just asked the missus to get down sainsburys to get me a crate of beer , stick it in the fridge and pre order me a dominos for 7.30.... She told me to "**** off" but it was worth a try!
My wife doesn't understand the significance of the Derby, although I'll forgive her anything after she commented "where are all the normal people? " whilst walking around Central Portsmouth a few years ago.
On a cigarette break and the Sun is out now, calm before the storm n all that. Two hours before I go home to see if that magical envelope is there.
The weather forecast for Portsmouth is as follows There's a storm brewing on the south coast today. But the dark clouds will lift as bright sunshine arrives into town for a couple of hours. There will be many claps of thunder coming in from the west and will be heard many times during the evening. The thunder will then return west at around 10pm All of this is followed by a local deep depression that could hang around for weeks.
Anyway floors to lay people, keep safe those going tonight. Ill be on here during the game i expect... OWTS
I just hope the players don’t believe the hype on here about a thrashing being inevitable. I think we’ll win - just - but it’s not going to be as easy as some think. The domestic / foreign issue will come into play. Pompey have more domestic players who will appreciate the significance of the derby. They will be well up for it with home field advantage and 70-80% of neutrals rooting for them. At the end of the day it’s 11 -v- 11 and giant killings are far too frequent for me to feel comfortable. I’ll start to relax when Shane scores his second and runs across the Pompey fans with a finger behind his ear....
