I dunno I can think of a few examples like who you get sat with and if jimmy Saville is on tour. I meant in life rather than just school
That's a very good observation. Lots of intelligent people (or well educated or whatever you want to call it) have no common sense. Some doctors, for example, have a very poor bedside manner because it seems unless they read it in a book, they don't know what to do.
So what experience is that then? Don't expect you get so many yuppies smackin up roids in a local gym.
Yeah I was agreeing you really just pointing that bit out, and obviously that's not really an issue as such for private schools.
I think that's a little naïve of you mate the gym has become a staple for many walks of life these days
the person famous for the quote yo gave about doctors with terrible bedside manners... he was a tramp that made his way to riches using motivational speeches basically
Question for those opposed to private education: if you were filthy rich would you still be against it?
We have a friend who went to private school but went down the leftie route. She became a teacher in quite a rough state school and said she could never consider the private system. Then her older kid didn't get into the "good" school in their catchment area so they moved house. Then her youngest kid didn't get into the "good" school in their new catchment area so he's going to private school. Obviously she was lucky that her husband had a few quid (he didn't go to private school, in fact he had a pretty horrific upbringing).
Never heard of him, will go and look him up now. I used the doctor example because it was an easy one to get the point across.
