With no injuries to any players (both teams), we match and challenge them. With injuries, they're a level above. Unfortunately, injuries exist.
No we don’t imo. Look at this weekend. City rest Sterling, arguably their best player and have Jesus on the bench. We have to put out our first eleven. We were dead and buried in the second half today....we will not match and challenge them for the season because we have not got the same quality in depth. I hope I’m wrong, I really do.
I'll word it differently; our first choice eleven matches their first choice eleven. Beyond that we fall short.
I'm still struggling to understand the logic of thinning the squad this summer when it looked stretched last year .For example Wilson is pretty limited in general play but he is a goal threat yet he is out on loan .
Not adding to the squad at all was beyond me. It was a real opportunity to strengthen to our forward line depth and at full back. I admire Klopp’s insistence that it would hold back the kids.....but that only applies if the kids are ready....ah well
well actually half of the "youth" was sent away for varying reasons i.e. ojo,Wilson,Kent,Duncan off the top of my head
I was following the conversation and knew what was meant, but it wasn't said PS...Adrian still adds to the first team too
Majority of us were accusing Jurgen Klopp of not buying first team players in the summer.Credit to him, I think he did his home work..
I think it's far too early to say that. We've not (touch wood) still not been hit by a major injury and we've only played a handful of games; the two-weekly game period is kicking off soon. My only problem with our lack of summer activity was how shallow our squad depth will be if/when we get hit by a few injuries. We're still relying on luck
Adrian's doing well, we signed a backup keeper. We lose Salah/Firmino/Mane/VVD/Fabinho/Robbo/Trent and it's not quite the same situation because we basically signed no one else.
