No I don't believe all of that will happen wiz. That has absolutely nothing to do with what I posted. Utterly bizarre post... Thanks for the update RR
Rob - much has been made by the remain supporting media, statisticians and politicians of the alleged downside of leaving. Whether you like the label or not, "Project fear" is a very real policy pursued by those who would have us believe the worst to influence public opinion toward their point of view. Denying it exists is as bad as advocating that coming out without a deal will be the answer to our future prosperity. We will supposedly lose the EU shackles or "anchor around our ankles" as Trump put it. That's a bit "Farageist" to be honest, but not nearly enough emphasis has been put on the positives of where we go as opposed to the problems we'll initially face.
wiz … there is no point trying to engage, he feeds on being able to reply to everything and often in the heat of the moment it is contradictions … and when losing the point resorts to having to use sarcasm [trying to] or attempts at belittling peeps .. as one of my Friday friends said " if he came to one of my lectures, there wouldn't be second one" !
Yeah it absolutely exists. I believe some of it. I think some of it is laughable nonsense. I just don't get what it has to do with our conversation we were having of whether the EU needs us more than we need them. The Project Fear thing has been done to death so I've no idea why wiz brought it up as if it was a point in our topic!
So if we leave without a negotiated deal, only us will have a problem? The rest of the EU wouldn't care less? - I don't think so.... https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/e...-nodeal-brexit-on-car-industry-072058392.html
More scaremongering the French and German and Italian and Swedish automotive companies will want to sell in the UK when we have left.
The point of my comment is purely based on 23 of the 27 EU countries sell more to us than we sell to them. Just 4 EU countries sell less to us than we do to them. So it is extremely simple to come to the conclusion that 23 of those 27 countries need us more than we need them. Not sure how you cannot understand this simplistic point really. You can come up with stats and numbers to back up your argument and that's fine. And the point you made in return is understandable. However, if you cant understand how anyone can "generate" the outcome that I've made from this graph, then that tells me how blinkered you are and won't accept a single point, no matter how small that point is, in favour of Brexit. And that's your prerogative of course. It's now got to the point where there is no further point in debating it with you as we're just going around in circles. You are too far on the right, not willing to accept democracy, not willing to even compromise to a brexit deal as you just want it stopped as you seem to not even agree to the smallest of positives towards leaving the EU. I am now too far on the left due to how remainers have acted since the referendum, and how the EU have dealt with us. I am a believer in democracy and believe no deal is now what the EU and the remainers deserve - which is not a single compromise whatsoever - out means out. I am at peace with that Rob
I disagree Red Robin. I don't think they will collapse and if somehow they do, it wont be within 2 years after we have gone. It will probably take the UK 3-4 years to find our feet and begin to start showing the EU that we were right and are better off out of the EU. At this point (once we have shown the EU that we've made it work), other EU countries will want to follow our example. Italy will be one of them. The EU will start to reduce in size but I doubt they will collapse. I think they will end up reforming though. They certainly will feel a lot of pain though when we leave. Germany and France will soak up the burden though.
Don't do that OS. That's against the rules!!! Surely you know leavers using any type of media outlets to back up our points is a no no according to Rob. But he is allowed to use any media outlets to back up his points. Haven't you learnt anything in this thread OS??
....... I hope you'e got your right and left mixed up there Cap'n Jack - if Rob is too far to the right, I must be Hilter....
I sort of agree here it will not be as quick as 2 years because there is 1 or 2 "treaties" rules etc coming in in 2020 that is designed to take away more of the sovereignty of those countries regarding what they can and cant do! for starters. however France and Germany will need to find another £3-4bn PA to compensate for the uk loss! another £3bn will need to raised from the rest! The future of the EU depends on "profit" … [ trading surpluses ] and to orchestrate them they will need "all" countries to contribute, at the moment probably only a handful do...…….
But that's just not true is it, I don't understand how you can say that. I've quite clearly said multiple times here that the EU will suffer without us. It's in their interests to find a deal as well. I've said plenty of times that they are going to struggle when they lose their second biggest economic power. It's about as unbiased a position as can be! Apparently I'm in the blinkered one yet nobody here can yet demonstrate how the EU needs us more than we need them. They're far larger than us - it's like saying that both myself and the Queen are going to lose 3 rooms from our residencies. She wouldn't notice, whereas my smaller economic position means that I'd be out on the street . It's also a lot easier to rubbish points in favour of Brexit when the main reason that most people voted - let's face it, immigration, can't actually be fixed by it as we can never actually police our only border! You're quite right in where we're talking about trade is mainly theoretical's so we go around in circles, whereas the border is a problem which nobody can yet solve.
In a previous post you stated that the UK has done no preparation for a no deal Brexit. Are you now stating the Country is being prepared to leave and the consequences of Brexit planned for to avoid the scenarios in Wizereds post?
Ha, what. Immigration is a perfectly legitimate concern. There's no 'card' being played at all. Back in your box mate, looking forward to your next sarcy response in a page or so's time. Actually it was a metaphorical 'no preparation' - of course there has been some. Just nowhere near enough. Replying to wiz's post, I was saying that I don't believe some of the stuff which some might call 'Project Fear' - i.e. planes falling out the sky. That's not the same as believing we are prepared.
