Phew. Hard fought game. We weren't great, but it's a measure of our improvement that we go to their ground and nothing less than a win will do.
Big 3 points at a tough away, Chelsea really pushed us today. Too much room for Kante to score but great finish
On the plus side, that's our one and only away game that follows our CL Group games. We're at home after the remaining five.
Firmino and Salah were useless in that second half. Lallana shouldnt be on the bench let alone brought on. Chamberlain could have got on the ball and driven forward.
Bit of a irritation for me that Klopp keeps taking Mane off before Salah. He doesn't mix it up, it's always Mane first. Mane was a much better option in that game, especially with Salah not being able to keep the ball!!!
Shows how good we are when we win despite being ****. Fabinho should have done better for their goal but he was a monster again. VVD and Matip pretty much everything in the air. Trent is special. Robbo’s run at the end to relieve pressure was brilliant.
Salah giving the ball away was putting us under more pressure. Mane is better defensively too. However, I wasn't just talking about today.
Yeah, same here. Mane adds more to the team defensively and surely was a better option to keep on in case of the break than Salah today
Like I said, a measure of how far we've come that we can go to Chelsea and win and people are still unhappy. In the past we'd have been chuffed to win that game under any circumstances. 5 clear at the top, 10 clear of Chelsea, Spuds and Man U. After 6 games. We can't really complain. Can we........?
It's more a frustration than a moan. Similar to Napoli I thought the front 3 made poor descion after poor descion, if the ball wont stick upfront it puts enormous pressure on the rest of the team.
You're right. I'm not disagreeing, just pointing out that we can't be on it every game. I'm sure that the mistakes and weaknesses are duly noted and will be worked upon. In the meantime, we are where we are - and it ain't such a bad place to be.
I agree, it hasn’t clicked all that well past couple of games. But the midfield needs to do better keeping the ball and adding more calm and composure to relieve pressure (mainly Hendo and Gini . They were just as bad IMO
Really agree with this, it would help massively if one of the midfield where able to put there foot on the ball and take the sting out the game. Just string a few easy passes together rather than having to pass it back or lump it forward
It's not a case of being on it, it's more trying the same thing over and over even though it's not working. Salah continually running into the full back or cb, I lost count of the amount of times firmino tried a little flick to a player when he could of just passed it, but lost the ball instead. It's simple stuff that's allowed to go on unchecked
