don't know if all down to him but at least the incoming transfers all look good buys particularly James considering his price .
They are all players that the next manager could work with. Said it a couple of months ago. Even if he doesn't last, those three will be gleefully used by whoever replaces him. Good signings.
Sacking him hardly seems to fit with the notion of a rebuild. He has to have time to get the right players in the right positions - that will take several windows, and even then they will have to integrate into the squad, adapt to the style of play and so on. It will take time, there will be highs and lows along the way but the signs from the first transfer window are all very encouraging. He has culled as many as he dare for now (given the present injury list it could be argued that we are short up front) and if that rate of replacement continues it could take Ole as long as three more windows to build a complete squad of his making. I think the majority of fans are supportive and will be patient, after all, our expectations have been lowered considerably there last few years.
Liverpool are a whopping 10 points ahead after just 6 games......That must hurt big time....Ole is not the right man for a big club and need to be changed early before it will be forced upon the great club as they fall further behind the elite teams they should be at least with....
I don't understand why it should take so many windows. At max, two more windows. The weaknesses in the team were there for all to see from the last match of last season. Yet we were in a hurry to get rid of everyone without ever planning on replacing them. I do not blame Ole by any means. However, we have become a joke right from the top. To think that we couldn't execute on plans to get someone like Bruno Fernandes and many other midfielders that we were linked with is somewhat shocking. Also, I have said before as well that I do not think Rashford should be wearing the number 9 shirt. He is not a target man. Not yet at least. I would rather have Martial up front and maybe Rashford behind him. It is surely going to be a long, long season!
Given the players that have featured so far this season if we break them down into Ole's preferred players, those we have to use and those who shouldn't be there, I think it highlights our problem. IMO this represents the scale of the problem, essentially we need eight top-class players - and that still only gives us a squad strength of seventeen decent players-
This isn't hindsight as I said it at the time but we should have kept hold of Sanchez. Ole made it clear he wasn't part of his plans and now we need a striker. Sanchez could have fitted that bill, we're paying most if his bloody wages anyway so he as well being more useful to us. Big mistake bombing him out. One of him or Pogba had to go, it should have been Pogba.
There I was thinking the club would give Ole time, and today they come out with the traditional kiss of death for any manager - a statement that he has the full support of the board. At least we know know Ole's going it wouldn't be indecent to start a 'next manage'r thread.
You still want Ole? My opinion is someones got to sort the team out, changing the manager constantly won't magically make things right. Can make things better, mind.
