    10 September 2011:

Kenny Dalglish say's he feels very encouraged by Liverpool's start to the season and has called on his players to continue the early momentum against Stoke City today.

The boss told Liverpoolfc.tv: "It's been encouraging. The lads have had their reward and plenty of plaudits for their display against Bolton, and rightly so.

"We now go to Stoke and it's a different type of game. We know what we have to face. Tony Pulis has done a fantastic job there, getting them into Europe this year which was a huge bonus for them''.

The Reds are without a win at the Britannia Stadium since an emphatic 8-0 League Cup victory in November 2000 - and Dalglish knows his men will be in for a tough test.

He said: "It's going to be difficult for us. They've got their own style of play which is really suited to them. It's the way they want to play and there are no rules that tell you you can only play football one way''.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard believes Luis Suarez has what it takes to become an Anfield legend.

Suarez has already made a big impression since joining the Reds in January and put in a typically energetic performance in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Stoke. Although Liverpool slumped to their first loss of the season, the Uruguay striker refused to give up and Gerrard can see Suarez going on to write his name into the Merseyside club's folklore.

Asked whether Suarez could become an all-time Reds great, Gerrard told liverpoolfc.tv: "I don't see why not. He's still young enough and I'm sure he's going to get even better than he is now, which is a scary thought."

With this in mind should we be mindful of his comments over Joe Cole last season? it seemed to havea negative effect on his performances stating he is on par or if not better than Messi?

For me Suarez is your best player by a country mile you should do all you can to hold onto him but he proved he is human against Stoke with a poor miss, would you say 18 goals or more in the league this seasonw ould be a realistic return for the Uruguyan?

    Monday September 12th 2001:

New Chelsea signing Raul Meireles has accused former club Liverpool of a broken promise and forcing him to submit a transfer request.

And the 28-year-old explained: "All I have to say is I had one promise at Liverpool which wasn't fulfilled."

He added: "Liverpool asked me to hand in a transfer request, that's normal."

Rumours have circulated that Liverpool promised Meireles a 100% pay rise if he impressed in his first season in the Premier League, a rise that was never forthcoming despite the playmaker making 35 appearances and scoring five goals.

Meireles revealed upon signing for Chelsea that he had never wanted to leave Anfield and that he would eventually explain why he had done so.

Refusing to discuss his relationship with Reds boss Kenny Dalglish, he added: "I was aware that Liverpool wanted to sell me in the summer, which was a bit surprising to me.

"There's no point touching this subject any more.

"I was a bit surprised, but now I'm just concentrating on my present and future, and that's with Chelsea."

    I think you sites ok.

Firstly did Mereiles not realise he was given that ''promise'' by the previous owners and not the new regime. The new owners were never going to fulfill a promise made by the previous owners. Nothing was given in writing by the new owners. Mereiles should have realised that anything Hicks and Gillett did once they no longer owned the club was null and void.
The new owners FSG had their own agenda. From October, it was a clean slate, whatever went on before didn't exist ie promises. Hodgsons assurances from H+G were also null and void, FSG could boot him out when they felt like it, and did so.
So Mereiles had no-one to blame but himself. I'll tell you how badly Liverpool are going to be without him, they will enjoy playing against him. Thats how much he will be missed.

    Tuesday 13th September 2011:

Dan Agger believes his strong start to the season is down to getting a full pre season down, with no injuries. But he also feel's he is yet to hit top form.

Compatriot and Anfield legend Jan Molby last week hailed the No.5 as being in the 'form of his life'.

Agger told Liverpoolfc.tv: "The fact I got the full pre-season has helped me a lot. I feel a lot stronger, a lot better, but I still have more to come, hopefully.

John Aldridge believes Craig Bellamy could prove to be the bargain buy of the summer.

    Wednesday 14th September 2011:

Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli is not looking for new players as he believes the squad is 'complete'.

Manager Kenny Dalglish has brought in seven new players over the summer, while selling or releasing 11.

Owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have spent around £45m net since taking over in October 2010.

And Comolli said: "I would really struggle to say we need something because I think we have such a complete squad at the moment."

And Comolli added: "We want to see how we're going to do [with these players].

"We are very pleased with what we've done during this window and the previous one as well.

"For me, it's like a big window from January until 31 August and, in total, we brought in nine players.

"We changed the team and changed the squad, so it's the time to reflect.

"Let's see how those players develop, how they gel together, how young players like Sebastian Coates adapt.

"Then we can make a decision [on areas to strengthen] later."

    Thursday 15th September 2011:

Kenny Dalglish insists Liverpool are taking a sensible approach to Steven Gerrard's return from a groin injury.

The 31-year-old midfielder was planning to make his comeback from six months out in Sunday's Premier League game against Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

But the Reds captain looks likely to miss out and return next Wednesday in the Carling Cup against Brighton.

"There is no rush from us or from him because it has to be common sense," said Liverpool boss Dalglish.

He added: "Everyone who is asked to play will be fit enough to play.

"We will pick and choose when it is best suited for Steven, whichever games suits him best.

"We will analyse his recovery and how the progress is (and) we will do the same for Martin Kelly."

    Saturday 17th September 2007:

Charlie Adam says he feels very at home at Liverpool and that the best of him is still to come.

"I'm happy with my form so far but obviously you want to do better," Adam told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"The manager makes that decision on whether he thinks you are doing well and deserve to stay in the team. He gives you the confidence when it's needed and a rollicking when it's not.

"I'm happy so far but I think the results maybe could have been a wee bit better in terms of a couple more points but we have had a good start.

"We had a disappointing result at Stoke but overall I think we have done okay and can get better."

    -

Kenny Dalglish has said he feels Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard are perfect examples of what Liverpool Football Club stands for and hopes they can pass that on to their team mates and the young players in the squad.

    -

Kenny Dalglish says he is glad all the players are enjoying the new training methods so much and puts it down to unsung hero's Steve Clarke and Kevin Keen.

But he says that even though they are having fun, they will not be allowed to become any less competitive.

Is it just me or is it the training methods adopted by Kenny that is keeping Dan Agger fit?
