One of the first comments of the Friday coffee morning was "we will have arrived should we beat Swansea, but it is harder than a month ago due to key injuries . come on you reds" second comment was the BIASED BROADCASTING CO [ our once loved unbiased Beeb ] … Disgusting coverage by B[iased ] BC this week, and especially in last couple of days with the hospital visit [10/10 for the poster on here that highlighted that] and also the VD programme today two or more guests apparently anti Boris /Brexit with no counter balance.... Supreme court... worry by one of our own[ FCM'ers] in house professor that the magnitude of the 3 days deliberations might be steamrollered through....." you have 11 individuals, some of the top judges in the British Isles doing what one of our number said is like speed dating". Issues and arguments put forward contained a lot of waffle to to fill their 20 mins or so "time given" and did have a few rebukes as "not really pertinent to the argument" ….. That aside... The BBC is becoming more and more of a Biased, own agenda orientated medium. We pay for the BBC and it is becoming harder to warrant the form it is currently in! In a round about way it our company! we all have a share in it.. the licence payer .. but we don't get a AGM or vote as to their behavior ….pay £m 's to some of the staff.. often for just a few hours work a week! ..... and contribute top wack? to pension funds .. but now wish to charge pensioners, who have likely contributed for more than 50 years top fee's for having a TV …. What should or could be done about it? Is it time for a complete reappraisal of the BBC? With so many channels now [generally /sky/virgin/BT etc] should there be an option to tv's that they only receive what the owner wants, so say no to BBC and your sky package or similar only has packages without BBC. Should fee payers have a right to vote on issues [ pension co's etc have "members reps to look after their interests, so why not members of the BBC [licence payers]? more coffee vicar ..[ we actually have one … and we mostly drink tea!]
BBC blasted by John Humphrys for 'bias' and failing to understand Brexit https://www.standard.co.uk/news/pol...stand-why-people-in-uk-voted-to-a4242956.html
Brexit is so devisive - some people are so entrenched in their views (on both sides) that any question/comment that does not match their opinion sends them into a tirade against whoever expresses it. All broadcasters have a difficult job IMO
ABSOLUTELY.... the BBC has some very astute female political commemtators, and they do a fine job … however they do seem to be the " counter balance" of a general trend toward being biased [ one way or the other ]… I mean not so much anti Brexit … IMO I think they are, but on both sides of the argument in how they "construct programmes" one point I make is QT has been favouring remain … I listen to it on radio most Thursday nights … about 3 -4 remain to 1-2 leave …...
