On the other hand, he’s kind of the only one who plays as a centre forward who’s primary job is to score goals though isn’t it he? His stats should be compared with rival centre forwards
You really don't expect a reply, do you? He hasn't a fukkin clue about football. His view of football seems to be: 1. Pick a team 2. Select outstanding players for indiscriminate, unwarranted victimisation 3. Abuse players identified in 2 incessantly, whether justified or not. 4. Savour response to inane, odious, and ultimately incorrect attacks on selected victims. 5. Talk pish throughout the process, heavily implying that you were Gordon Banks. 6. Abuse responding posters with uncalled for vicious remarks, closed with a 'without malice' comment. With malice. Right, leave you to Mission Impossble, Jammy et al. I'm back on the bevvy. Trying to out-Shaks Shaks here, & doing not too bad a job in limited time. Sadly, Mrs WJ expects me to make the tea. Not quite sure yet what she wants me to burn. Just as well I like crunchy. And carbon.
I'm just wound up because we all know it can only happen to us that we will be the best team in this league for successive seasons yet still manage to screw it up somehow!
Good post Emu. There were reasons though that last season we didn't sustain our results until the end. Siaz Clarke (illness) Izzie Brown Lewis Baker Daniel James Now hopefully this season we're more complete both as a squad and a club. Fully understand the frustrations though.
I just want someone to hold me and tell me everything will be alright! I can't take another season like last one!
We know he's no Pukki, and want as much as you like, he never will be, but he does, hold the ball up better than any player at the club, works hard and could create probably more than anyone else, for a natural goal scorer, who we have but hardly ever play. Just trying to utilise what we have, as we are failing badly at home and need to do something.
It might be alright, but only if we do something to make it alright. Doing nothing shouldn't be an option.
Spot on. Well said and agree 100%. If we were playing badly and scraping this type of result I would not have an issue but as you say in all the games this season we have been far ahead in possession and chances and really should not have dropped the points we have. We need a buffer because inevitably at some point we will dip and that's when we could have real problems. If it doesn't work with Eddie then fair enough but lets at least try and change it and find out if he can do better than Barndoor.
Crazy thing is Bielsa said after Brentford game how well 2 up front worked and said maybe it could be an option, then ignored himself and went back to one up front failures.
Well I'm always happy to debate about football with anyone. With that in mind I'll at least wait and see if LL can come back with something of interest. He does however seem to go extremely quiet until the wee hours so I'll probably have to wait until tomorrow before continuing the debate.
Understand that fella, i’m Not bashing him. Last I checked his ‘expected goals’ which isn’t a perfect stat... but is at least an indicator of what someone should be scoring... was average. Not terrible, not good. Probably got a bit worse since. Pukki and Norwich, as a team were unbelievably efficient last year. Just average will do for us because we make enough chances It’s a tricky one
Though it was a well reasoned and balanced rant so gave it the appreciation it deserved. Feel free to let rip yourself if you're feeling the need.
Might be worth noting too that the top scorers in the league have 5 to Bamfords 4. Where is that tin hat emoji?
Pablo is not our main striker, Harrison is suppose to be more of a striker than Pablo, Harrisons crosses are like Phillips corners and long balls, appalling. Bamford, you don't analyse do you Ristac, you should. If Bamford has 10 passes all game, and they reach a leeds player 6 or 7 times out of 10, that's a 60 or 70% pass success rate. The stats look good, but the number of passes aren't, same for Harrison and Phillips. Most of Bamfords / Harrisons passes are over short distances, very short distances. The facts remain the same irrespective of what stats say, we aren't putting away our chances, nearly Bamford ain't putting his chances away, and he has plenty. Remember Morison, he couldn't score a sausage, but most kept saying he held the ball up well, played off the ball well, went missing well etc etc. We didn't get promoted that season. We didn't get promoted last season for similar reasons either.
Good stats Davy, that's an average of 1 goal every 2 games so far, that stat will change for worse over season. Care to come up with the "how many chances has Bamford missed per game" stats. Hope that tin hat fits you ok.
I go quiet till the wee hours...............I do have a life outside Leeds United. But you don't have to wait Jammy, the highlights with my comments are already posted.
