Good Morning. It's Friday 20th September, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines

    Adidas to succeed Kappa?

According to Phil Hay, sportswear giants Adidas have been tipped to succeed Kappa to manufacture the Leeds strip next season bringing an end to our 5 year contract with the Italian brand.

The former YEP chief football writer went on to say that our current shirt sponsor 32 Red' is also about to expire soon, and a new company will be replacing them. This is likely to be an extremely lucrative deal, especially if the Whites reach the promised land in May!

Which brand have made the best and worst Sports brand?

Who was your favourite shirt sponsor?

If you could choose any company to be Leeds shirt sponsor, who would it be?

Casilla - Its a very demanding league

Kiko Casilla has been speaking to Italian media outlet Diario de Tarragona about his transition from Real Madrid to Leeds Utd.

“When you arrive, everything shocks you,” “It’s a direct style of game, back and forth and very competitive games in which you know that you will hardly score. It’s a very demanding league, but fun.”

“We’re watching videos and training for many hours. Not only us players, but also their coaching staff. But when you see that everything is reflected in the matches and is going well, it’s fun.”

“At Cartagena, I had played like that, but I hadn’t done for many years. At Madrid and Espanyol they also rely on the ball but not as clearly.”

“Bielsa makes me participate a lot in the game. He asks me to take the ball and do a lot of defence help, and that forces me to be out of my area.”

Are you happy that Casilla has established himself as No 1 keep at Elland Road?

Kinnear - Both White and Nketiah have recall clauses

Angus Kinnear has revealed that there is a January recall clause in the loan deals of both Ben White and Eddie Nketiah!

The Leeds Utd Chief Executive was speaking on the recent edition of the 'Talking Shutt' podcast.

“It’s fairly standard in these contracts to have January recalls but the decision is based on how well the loan’s going so if the players are playing, playing well, enjoying their football and developing, which I think we can evidence in both Ben and Eddie’s case, then you’d be fairly confident that they recall wouldn’t be activated by the parent club.”

Kinnear went on to discuss how the defender ended up on the Whites’ radar. He explained: “Ben was a player that Victor (Orta) spotted when he and I went to Newport in the FA Cup two years ago and he’s watched him ever since.

“He was very confident that he had the ability to play in Marcelo system–very, very composed on the ball, plays the ball out brilliantly, but I think I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how tough he is as well.

He’s as robust a centre half as I think you’ll find, so I think he’s a good signing.”

    In other news

Leeds United officials were confirmed to have been in attendance at Benfica's Champions League clash against RB Leipzig earlier in the week. I wonder who they were scouting? Any ideas?

Mauricio Pochettino may use his option of a release clause to recall Jack Clarke in January and send him to West Ham. Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini is apparently an admirer of the 18yo England U19 International.

Local artist Andy McVeigh has been commissioned to restore art work on electric and broadband boxes at Elland Road and the surrounding areas that were recently vandalised.

He will be working in conjunction with Leeds Utd, Leeds City Council and Virgin Media.

    Good Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

As suspected the Kiko issues of last season were due to Bielsa wanting him to be a defender. No problem with that and he seems to have almost sorted it out and hes playing well and 4 clean sheets. Top keeper still learing.

Bielsa reckons Clarke has a big part to play this season and says Clarkes skill level is complete and his attitude is also good, so no chance of him going to Spuds unless Poch really insists.

    Kiko everyone

Big news to watch is the downfall of Thomas Cook and looking like a huge bankruptcy about to happen. Foson a huge Chinese company who own 49% of the travel agent are looking to get out and know they will lose millions in the process leaving thousands of Brits and many more thousands of Europeans stranded all over the world.

Foson own Wolves and it was Foson money that bought promotion from the Championship and they carried on spending big money this Summer. Wonder if thats the reason for them getting beat last night?

Casilla has had to up his game because this season he has serious competition from Meslier, who by all accounts is the best keeper at the club.

It's the kick up the arse Casilla needed.

If they booked a holiday then at least ABTA should come to the rescue...flight only and they're f***ed.

But hey if you book with a company that's been in dire financial straights for some time (widely reported as well) then it's highly likely you're not as smart as the average bear.

Anyway good to hear you've been making friends with people on the same intellectual level Wakey. Or are you looking for a rich but stupid widow to fleece ?

1-1 half time but should be 4-0 to Leeds in a dominant classy performance. Highlights are reall on the wings with Jack Clarke and Stu McKinstry in a different class. Hard to believe WJs neighbour McKinstry was 17 yesterday. Casey scored from a set piece for us

Very bad 2nd half performance because we couldn't seem to pass properly. Clarke had a good game and almost scored an equaliser, McCarron came on and started well but wasn't in tune with the lads, Edmondson had a chance and blew it, Ayling should have scored but missed, Kun came on and got them going again but we left it too late 1-2 to Hull

    Thanks for the updates Doc.

No need to worry about the odd defeat as it's how the young lads will learn and become better players.

It's all ultimately about development as well as some fitness and match sharpness for those that are in need of it.

Now it's on to tomorrow and the really important stuff.

Strange game today. Deffo a game of two halves. (Btw, McKinstry was only my neighbour for a week - back in my own house again :) ).

First half had an odd game plan. We counted 10-12 sweet 60yd diagonals from Burlace (new CB) & Ayling to Clarke. Not one to McKinstry. All were wasted by a dribble too much, a touch too much before shooting, a poor shot, or a poor pass/cross. Yes, Clarke was busy, but his end product was along the same lines as Sacko. Rubbish. He was getting dogs abuse from the crowd. Our little group concluded that the game plan was all about making him play so he could get his confidence & mojo back. Not convinced it worked. If anything, it backfired, as he had more failures than he usually would! On the right side & centre, we had Bielsaball. Really most odd game plan, & whilst we looked good, I think it was more down to Hull being poor. We were sitting right at the tunnel, so at HT we were able to hear Edmondson going absolutely mental about 'the press'. Stupid me was looking to see where the media guys were to see what they'd done before the penny dropped. <doh>

Second half, things got odder! We had a half time sub. McCarron came on as LW, pushing Clarke to RW & McKinstry into the middle. As if that wasn't odd enough, Burlace appeared to switch with Ayling, but it was never entirely clear whether we had 3 at the back or 4. Burlace was rarely back defending as RB. We got swamped. 25 mins later, Kun came on for Ayling. Not sure if this was planned, as 5 mins earlier, Casey I think it was, shouted over to the bench that Ayling was feeling his hammy - and he was - literally! Ayling phoo-phoo'd it, saying he was fine. Got hooked anyway! I asked him how he was at FT. Said he was fine. Said I thought he was looking helluva stiff (he was - walking very oddly), and he replied, typically "Nah, I'm just fkin knackered", with a great big smile. We'll see if it becomes a problem, but I tend to believe him - the head wasn't down. With Kun on, we reorganised again. Burlace dropped back, McKinstry went wide & McCarron went inside. Can't be any more specific about the formation. Hadn't a clue. Shape was terrible. We were clearly trying out a few things. I have no idea what, or if it was successful. Didn't look it! TBF, much as I think McKinstry is going to be a very special player, I thought he was lost in the middle. Perked up back on the wing though, before being subbed by Hudson (who I mistook for Gotts). One feature which disappeared in this half was the 60yd diagonals. Not one, as I recall. Pity. I can also only think of one shot on target - Clarke. Bit disappointed by it, though. Sure, it was a rocket, but it was straight down the goalie's throat & an easy tip-over. He had all the space & time in the world to angle it. The only really positive to come out of the second half was the anger in the faces as the game ended. It clearly hurt. Good!

Recognised one of Hull's coaches, but none of us could put a name to the face. Then it dawned that it was Nails. Wished I'd realised earlier, when I had the chance to talk to him. Would have been nice to thank him for his time with us.

This could be pretty bg and has been mentioned on here before but getting paid £75k for every time we are on Sky is shyte compared to the £3m a prem team gets. We were on telly 25 times last season which only gave us £1,8m. The biggest televised match last season was Leeds V Villa yet we only got pennies
