I think I've done this one before on old606, but it's always one I enjoy reading about. Who is your favourite NCFC player who never really cut it, and why?! Mine was David Neilson (tra la la la la). 6 goals in 6 games on loan, and then a totally dismal remainder of the season. Had a good sense of humour and a great relationship with the fans, particularly those in the Snakepit! Thank god Dad wouldn't pay for me to have his name printed on the back of my shirt, what a waste that would have been! OTBC! CS
Jamie Cureton. Always gave 100%, was truly passionate, and you could tell he genuinely gave a toss, unlike everyone playing around him (after Dion and Hucks left). Pity he was dreadful... Good question Political
interesting and thought provoking question pc!! i'll go for paul dalglish - i met him a couple of times while he was with us. great bloke, very funny, but a rubbish player. really wanted him to do well but he just couldn't hack it unfortunately! still follow him on twitter though...
Once heard, in the dark days of Cha**, (he who must not be named), that Akinbiyi and Cureton were the new South Stand. I always had a lot of time for Robert 'Rosie' Rosario. Always seemed to try his hardest without actually getting anywhere. Great question CS
Keith O'Neill. Would have a few good games and then get injured. I always thought Ryan Jarvis was going to be a Premier league player too. My favourite was Pape Diop. He sounded so exotic but had no idea of the rules of football
I would say Darren Kenton. As a right back we was pretty good but Brian Hamilton kept playing him as a left back and we was bloody awful! Always thought he should have been playing in a more forward role anyway as he did have a reasonable shot on him but never really got forward often enough to prove it as we were crap at that time and spent most of the games in our own half!
I am not sure you could say he didn't cut it, he played in the most successful Norwich side ever, but Rob Newman's talents were certainly limited. I loved him for that though. Also would like to give Mat Svensson a shout. Never really became a regular, but loved him for the Spoon dance. I miss the Svensson Spoon Dance. Actually, that could be my new user name.... Hmmmmm......
I think I'm going to have to say Keith Webb. Nice chap, Norwich boy through and through, I actually played in the same school 'form' team with him. He was a fantastic player, head and shoulders above everyone else we all thought he would make it in the game. However, as we all know, he never 'quite cut it', but did have (still has), a terrific coaching career. The fact that Keith never progressed in the game as a player really brought it home to me just how GOOD you had to be to make it as a footballer !!! OTBC
Another name to throw in the frame is the Goalkeeper Clive Baker. Made the reserves, but never really made it to the first team. I was at school with him. I think he ended up at barnsley where he had a decent career I believe
didn't he end up playing for the binners? I seem to remember seeing him play for them at carrow road. For a goalkeeper he was very short which is why I don't think he made it at a higher level. Was always half decent though.
He was indeed short for a goalie Kenny. I don't remember him playing for the binners, but there again I am most probably wrong. I do know he did spend a fair part of his career up north though.
I remember some people used to give it his heart bleeds green and yellow he must play, yes but he is ****. He did score but had to have three clear cut chances.
Joe Lewis surely has to have a nomination for this category, even tho he never got the chance to cut it! £400,000?!? What was roedent thinking?
I went out with his sister Paula (Keith Webb ) for a while..................off topic thread i think !!!!!
