Keep it up Somerset. And Hampshire chose to bat as well. At this time of the years some pitches do funny things in the first hour or two or play. Hopefully Somerset can make a great score to really put the pessure on Hampshire second time round and obviously Essex, where bad light is the feature of play so far.
I will miss both Gower and Botham for Test matches. They already have others more interested in short form cricket to cover those formats.
Thank goodness for that! Great knock from Liam Dawson, but Hampshire all out for 196. Maximum bowling points anyway!
Hopefully Somerset can post 400, and perhaps by the third day the pitch is taking vicious spin, cue Bess to come to the fore. !!
Are these guys being retired? Or are they being lined up for something more lucrative? Time Boycott was put out to grass permanently.
How does this work then? Glos have bowled out Worcs for 221, do they get any bonus points for that? Also they currently sit 3rd, how many go up?
That could be it for the day!! I thought someone said that bad light would not be a problem due to floodlighting facilities? This could well be the story of the week across all matches.
3 go up and one comes down. Notts have managed to put in a batting performance today after the horse has bolted.
Somerset do not want to go back out there tonight. They need to hope the light doesn't improve otherwise they could quite easily find themselves 3 or 4 down by the close.
