Had to check the result twice when I woke up to check that I had it correct. I was chatting to my dad beforehand and we were hoping that the result wasn't too bad.... it was better than that it was excellent, wow!
Watching MOTD. How cool was Farke after our first goal! Almost as cool as his wink after Lambert lost his head. Buendia's skill and control in the lead up to the goal , Pukki's curved run for the second goal was magical. So many stand out players, but so good to see Emi found his mojo again! What a joy to watch that again. Byram and Amadou, I thought looked fantastic.
I did like how Ian Wright was gushing about us, and when they turned to Alan asking about Man City defence. He stopped him, and made a point of first saying how good we were from start to finish. They never usually do that with us. That was a nice touch. Surprised me.
I used to enjoy listening to 606 when Ian Wright and Kelly Kates had the Sunday evening slot. He always had as much time and input for fans of Lincoln as he did Liverpool. You can't say the same of Sutton or Savage.
Amadou was incredible in the 2nd half, as was Godfrey - in fact, no Norwich' player had a bad game IMO!! I might just have to buy a Sunday paper to read about our famous victory and looking forward to PD's review of the Sunday papers - I've a feeling it might be quite a lengthy watch today. #whocares
So Stiepi "made a couple of poor decisions going forward"? Well what about his key pass that put Pukki through for Cantwell's goal, and his wonderful first time pass that again put Pukki in the clear to run on goal for the shot he should have scored from but screwed wide? I don't think you fully get Stiepi's role Bedford. Of the three behind Pukki, Buendia and Cantwell get the rave reviews, but Stiepi is the one they and the rest are constantly looking for and constantly finding in the right place as they seek to spring the trap. It's his job to make the difficult passes to break the opposition press or back line; of course it doesn't always come off, any more than Pukki always scores and never misses, or Buendia always beats his man and never loses possession. And how important was Stiepi yesterday defending set pieces. The big man was no less immense than the others.
I just watched MotD and had to smile at Gary Lineker's deliberate misprounciation of our head coach's name! "So how do you beat Manchester City? Fark knows!"
Surprise, surprise. They played the Sheffield United "hand ball" and spent ages talking about it. I think that was less blatant than the Man City one. That they just plain ignored and didn't show.
Still buzzing here ..... but ....... If we don't put in a similar shift at Burnley or Palace, or anything close to it (as we did at West Ham), it's going to feel like a serious anti-climax
I meant to say earlier that TC is becoming an incredible player and really pleased that SW persuaded him to sign a new contract!!! Looking forward to the 'red half' of Manchester rolling into town.
