My internet is up and down today, as a result of storms.
This was filmed about 15 minutes drive from where I am.

A car park on and industrial estate near Orihuela, as a result of the gota fria bringing heavy rain.

Renault brings out the KZ-E. A cheap fully electric crossover style car:

    upload_2019-9-12_17-3-16.png
OK, what are the drawbacks? It'll have a top speed of around 70mph because it is a city car, with a range of 120 miles. It has a small electric motor and battery, so acceleration will only be better than the equivalent small FFVs. But, it will cost less than £7300 before incentives. You didn't see that one coming, eh? Sadly, here's the real bummer. It's in China only.

I agree. Then again I don't like the looks of SUVs and Crossovers in general, although I can put up with the odd one or two like the Model X or iPace. But people apparently do love them cause they sell like hot cakes.

Part of the AP7 motorway between where I am and Cartagena, a route from Alicante airport to La Manga.
When it rains here, it rains.

Sam Smith wants to be referred to as 'they' rather than 'him'. Totally ridiculous as it can be very confusing as it suggests more than one person...I read an article earlier today where I thought two people had died when it was only one person. There is a perfectly useable word if you don't want to be considered male or female...that word is 'it'.....a single thing of unspecified sex.

Does anybody believe all that stuff anymore?

However, further to the plus side - today a friend of mine had his new M20 phone delivered from Hong Kong. It cost him £42 and it has a better spec and bigger screen than my LG Stylus 3, and runs Android 8.0 [mine runs 7.0], and appears to be totally compatible with UK 4G standards. I'm looking for the catch!
Plus a faithful Li-Ion drill that he bought for a knock down price about 2 years ago and had appeared to have given up the ghost actually wasn't faulty at all, and it is absolutely fine, and this was after I had given him my barely used backup drill with 2 NiMH batteries so that he would have something that worked. Plus a couple of other minor things went well for him today, which made Friday the 13th seem like a worn out myth.

The local storm (gota fria) has been labelled the worst in the region for 100 years.
The army has been deployed to help evacuate some towns, flooded by the rain and the river Segura breaching it’s banks.
The attached short video shows what happens during a gota fria and shows how devastatingly quickly the rain falls.

    COLLAPSING CLOUDS

This is what we are experiencing now here on the Costa Blanca. It's called "GOTA FRIA" (Cold Drop) The difference between a "gota fria" storm and a normal storm, this video will help to explain it. As the cold air passes on top of the warmer air over the Mediterranean, it cause large clouds to simply collapse, causing a lake to fall out of the sky, as much as 300 litres that can fall in one square metre. That is why it is known as the Cold drop (gota fria).

One of many videos doing the rounds, showing the aftermath of the flooding from the gota fria.
Has none of this appeared on the UK news?

Roads are being destroyed and there’s a big hole in the motorway between where I am and the airport.
The Guardia are looking into it, ahem.
