I don't disagree with most of what Jayram has to say. I just find his "I know more than you" & holier than thou attitude mildly irritating

Although I suspect he finds me rather irritating too <whistle>

I think our new players have already bedded in at Arsenal
already it has demonstrated a tangible improvement.
The focus of the team now seems really committed, we've got players who want to fight for us.

No matter how good Cesc and Nasri were, they didn't want to play for us anymore and as such,
they were no longer any good for Arsenal.
We did well in a hotly inflated and skewed market to secure two centre midfielders with skill and experience.

We also added strength to every area which we said needed addressing <ok>

Look, I don't want to come off as a killjoy who is determined to be negative but I find it mildly ludicrous to hear that our transfer business was good this summer. At the start of the summer I wanted significant investment in the team so that we could actually challenge for the title but instead we faced problem after problem with Wenger seeming powerless to do anything about them.

Although I am delighted with the signings of Mertesacker and Arteta and believe Park, Santos and Benayoun were good deals I don't seem them being good enough to take us to the next level. If we had signed a midfield general and perhaps another top striker/playmaker then I would be over the moon but we didn't and now we will do no better than 3rd at best, again. I genuinely believed that after the shambles of last season that Wenger would show some serious ambition this summer which is why I am disappointed that we are left with a side that is more or less the same quality of the one that started last season.

Yes I know Nasri and Fabregas wanted to leave but I still feel he could have sorted it out earlier, man city for instance offered the same amount for him earlier in the summer and giving Barcelona a deadline could have made them act with more haste. Anyway, I don't want to keep going on about how annoyed I am at Wenger because its ****ing boring but I still cannot accept the idea that we have done well this summer.

I think the biggest problem we had in the transfer market was finishing 4th.

No big star player would want to join us until we could guarantee CL football & by the time we could in many cases it was too late!

Also the players were just not available.
All summer we heard that we should sign, Sniejder, Kaka, Hummels, Subotic, Benzema, Higiuan etc.... yet none of those players were for sale anyway.
The fact that the mega rich clubs came to us to get players tells you everything you need to know about the availability in the transfer market.

If fabregas would of stayed, and we bought the same players would you of been happy???

Nasri has been replaced by gervinho
    clichy replaced by santos
and we've signed a tall, strong, experienced centreback thats been wanted for years
And frimpong has come through as a big strong good DM
add in RVP seems to not be made of glass anymore

Absolute crap ! There were lots of players available - we just wanted to pay a pittance to get them.

You think our squad is good ? Great result today, huh !!!

Shocking team, manager who has lots the plot.

Inler, Toulalan and Vidal would be great for us and they all moved to pretty good but not exceptional clubs for reasonable fees. As for attacking players how about Mata (who we never made an offer for), Forlan, Rossi, Gameiro, Cazorla or Lucho Gonzalez who were all available this summer?
