I definitely would not play Godfrey. To avoid temptation I wouldn't even put him on the bench. Just let him heal. We are not getting anything from this game anyway. Same with Krul, play Fahrmann and let Tim heal. There's no sense in further risking the walking wounded tomorrow.

Totally agree. It’s going to be a turkey shoot tomorrow so why risk further injury to key players who will be vital in the coming games.

You could select a best ever NCFC all-time eleven for this game and still get a tonking - it's the fixtures that are to follow where we would normally stand a chance of gleaning points that worry me. :emoticon-0108-speec

Absolutely spot on and let's just take this hit and move on to the next game.
As you say Cromer, prior to the horrendous news onthe injury front, we would have had a good chance of picking up some points in the remaining games before the next international break. Now however ......

Still - I'm sure Shearer, Lawro etc are secretly 'rubbing their hands with glee!!'

Yes, it makes sense to not play Godfrey and Krul, not only to rest their injuries, but to keep them from taking a psychological hit as well. With the length of our injuries now particularly in defence, I now fully expect us to go down. January will be too late to turn it around, both in terms of injuries and new players coming in. One or two more injuries and it will get even worse for games we need point from. I'm an optimist, but there's just too much stacked against us now. Perhaps SW can find an out of contract CB, which would help, but barring that, it looks bleak.

If we were to find an out of contract CB that was fully fit and ready to go, do we have a squad space available?

Whilst not expecting any change from Citeh, its games like this where others unexpectedly step up to the plate and earn respect

That's good because there are 10 available while Judas manages Ipswich

Great post Rick and I imagine several clubs owners must be doing 'cartwheels' after DF's presser yesterday which sounded more like the admission list from Causality. To lose our 2 senior CBs for a minimum of half of the season is just more than ANY club could withstand and I'm sure we must be 'nailed on' favourites for relegation , but whatever happens, I'm holding on to my ST.

Edit - Cue Binners' fans on here in another month or so anticipating the 'Old Farm Derby' next season.

I am usually very upbeat about our chances and after last season believe we have a team that can stay up.

4 games in and it's getting a little bit doom and gloom .
The 11 that got humiliated in the League cup by minnows didn't do enough to trouble the first team.
We have conceded a troubling amount of goals already but now it looks like Krul may miss the game today as well as ALL of our centre backs and most of our first choice midfielders.

Byram looked out of his depth against Crawley, he has to fill in for Max one of our stand out performers.
We will almost certainly need to play people out of position so possibly Tettey and Amadou as centre backs .

Against a side like Manchester City it will take a miracle to not get smashed for 6 or more goals.

I am not a big believer in luck but we seem to have smashed a mirror or had a single magpie visiting us recently.

Fate has conspired to rip the spine of our team apart and give Farke a massive headache, with everyone fit then he had a fighting chance of keeping us up but with key players out long term we are in serious trouble.

Of course we have 34 games to fight for points but with this depleted squad we must already be looking towards the January transfer window.

Realistically our strongest 11 playing to their full potential would probably get thrashed by Man City and their embarrassment of riches , and I don't want to use injuries as an excuse but it's a bloody good one.

This will be my first visit to Carrow road this season and the sun is shining so win lose or draw I will be cheering the boys on.

Is there not a special dispensation whereby, if a club loses an established CB for six months plus, they can sign an out of contract player as a short / mid term cover without affecting squad numbers, etc?
If so get on it pronto, Stuart <ok>

I believe special dispensation is granted with goalkeepers but outfield players ?

Like you say this game is a bit of a write off anyway, it’s more the fact that after this we go into a run of games that I thought we could pick up some points with a full team. With our current injury list that looks in real jeopardy and I’m already beginning to fear the worst. We will have to have a storming second half of the season with most of our key players back to stay up. Hopefully the deputies can step up and prove their salt as they did so many times last season. The problem is last season it was a settled team with one going out and one coming in, the current state of play means that half the team is out! God forbid we suffer any more injuries!

    Really worried about tonight.

If I was offered 0-5 now. I would probably take it.

I cannot believe our injury list. Insane.
