I think it's time the FA and Football league brought in more stringent rules for owners. I know they have a fit and proper check, but they need to bring in stricter rules with regard to accounts, which need to be much more transparent in terms of what's coming in and going out of the club. All businesses are required to produce accounts statements, but too many of these shyster owners are clearly not acting as guardians of the club or providing them with decent stewardship. In the case of Bury, they should have had some kind of compulsory purchase arrangement in place to stop them going under. That slimy **** bought them for £1 and was trying to hold out for £3m to sell, when it wasn't forthcoming he allowed them to fold instead. Greedy ****.
I was thinking a while back, even some of the Championship clubs now are getting greedy for Prem success and money, I wonder how long before some of the top Championship clubs break away from the EFL.
Shopping - Why what Chelsea bought? I hadn't heard much off them lately, was beginning to wonder if they'd gone under
Think its a dangerous game that these clubs are playing. They are effectively cashing in one of their assets. Of course it raises money for club operations in the short term However it means the owner has separated an important asset from the club. If the Bury owner had done this he could have easily got the 3million he was looking for by selling the land without it having to go to meet club debts and leaving the club with nowhere to play. The practice should be banned. Dont agree with FFP at all but if owners want to put money into their club they should be allowed to do it but not through loans or schemes like this - just through issuing more shares.
Everybody wants a slice of the pie. The trouble is many of them order a piece way too big for themselves and then can't afford the bill.
With the start Utd have had they could do with a win Vs Leicester or is going to be mini melttdown time for some fans
