Good Morning. It's Friday 13th September, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines Boro set to sue EFL over Derby FFP farce According to The Times, Middlesbrough have sent legal documentation to the EFL, showing intentions to sue them for failing to enforce its financial rules over Derby's purchase of Pride Park. Pride Park was listed as an asset on Derby's books with a value of £41m when their owner Mel Morris used a separate company to buy it for £80m with a deal to lease it back. Losses of more than £13m per year over three years breach the EFL's profit and sustainability rules, and by virtue of Derby's (fraudulent imo) actions, it looks like they have escaped justice. Why haven't Leeds been throwing their weight around? The football governing bodies are quick enough to do it, when the ball is on the other foot? Leeds were worried that had they accepted the offer, they would have to find themselves a new Manager. Phillips has been speaking to the YEP about his joy having signed a 5 year deal (and making himself over 10m in the process). “It’s a big moment in my career, I want to spend a lot of time at this club and to sign a new five year deal is a very proud moment for myself and my family,” “I always talk about football, it is what I live for and my family have always supported me 100 per cent, if it wasn’t for my mum and my grandma, I don’t think I would be in this position now. “I’ve spent countless hours on the training pitches, I’ve put a lot of hard work in and sacrificed a lot, so I think I’ve deserved what I am getting. “This season we’ve got to get back in the Premier League and with the team and manager we have got, it would be a big opportunity wasted if we don’t get promoted. “We’ve got to push and push for promotion, we came so close last year and I think it has done the team good because we know what it takes and how much hard work it takes to get there. “Hopefully we can have another good season like last year, but finish it off.” At what price would YOU sell Phillips for? please log in to view this image In other news It has been revealed that Liam Cooper was instrumental is persuading Kalvin Phillips to stay at Leeds. Hmmmmm, I wonder whether Stuart Dallas 'had a word' too? The Matthew Murray High School in South Leeds looks favourite to become Leeds new training ground. Facilities including high-performance sports pitches and gymnasiums, nutrition facilities, medical rooms and teaching and staff space would be created at a cost of circa 25m The proposed training ground would be Category 1 status - a requirement of the Premier League for training and academy facilities. Leeds are currently in talks with Klich and Hernandez about renewing their contracts. Hernandez will be 35 at the end of this current season. It's Friday 13th. Anyone superstitious?

Good morning all... I think Phillips wanted to stay, I don't think he took much persuading, as to his sale value, it depends on too many factors now, if we get promoted, if we keep Bielsa, if we are promotion contenders come January. In regards to Boro suing Derby GOOD and it will give both of them an unwelcome distraction, we know Spygate never helped us, we can only guess if it cost us any points in games, we know the whole affair never won us any
Morning all Derby County are cheats and have bent the rules for years to try and get promoted. They spent and failed in the last 4 seasons alone and missed out every year. They have paid shed loads for some top players and paid more some bang average players who were all on huge wages. This inflated the transfer fees and inflated wages for the Championship. Boro did the same by the way the last 3 seasons, but they didn't cheat and Steve Gibson has almost spent all of his money trying to do it and now the bank is empty and they missed out on play offs by 1 point, when we all know that the EFL should have deducted 12 points from Derby just after they deducted 9 from Birmingham. Last seasons play off final was contended by 2 teams that cheated FFFP rules and one of them will get away with it because they got promoted. Its wrong and a reason why proper clubs cant get out of this league. Clubs who have tried to cheat the system recently have all got themselves into financial trouble, Swansea, West Brom, Birmingham, Villa, Boro, Wednesday, QPR, Fulham, and besides the Wendies every one of them have recently been on parachute payments. When the reward for taking huge financial risk is the biggest financial prize in world sport, of some £180m dodgy characters who run football clubs will try and cheat. The whole governance of UK football needs changing
I've got to say I wish Steve Gibson all the very best in his endeavours against the EFL however I have to point out that other clubs don't seem to be giving him any support. Is this because his(Gibson) case is so weak or because other owners are scared of rocking their own boat. Until such time as the club owners in general say enough is enough this will continue to happen. What's Radrizanni s take on all this. I have spoken to a lot of people recently who over the years have been turned off football because they see it as being completely corrupt a sentiment that I have to say I have more than a little sympathy with
Think everyone is keeping their powder dry and Radz got hardly any backing from clubs when he kicked off about the crap money he got for tv appearances compared to what the bottom club in the prem got. Leeds on tv 27 times with high viewing figures and the bottom prem club on tv 3 times but low viewing figures but the cash differential is almighty massive. Radz wanted a fair price but most clubs kept quiet. Gibson will lose I expect because if he wins there will be every club going after compensation from the EFL
People saying, Sundays game no longer on red button someone put up an email from sky saying they don't have the rites to show it.
I personally think that 'Boro will get on better without Leeds help. The best thing we could do to help them is support Derby, given the authorities everlasting desire to deny Leeds everything.
Best to have all options as back up...haven't missed any matches so far and this will be another great game. Just wish there were more away tickets available.
To be honest I f***ed up. Could have bought 2 away season tickets just before Bielsa signed and I hesitated and blew it.
