was gonna say I really only use my car for long trips because I can walk almost anywhere in town. If it takes 45 minutes to re-charge at a motorway station as apposed to 5 minutes with petrol - how's that gonna work? 100 charging points?

How long is your trip? Watch ol' Quentin Wilson from the old Top Gear. He does a trip and has a lot of EV experience:

Interior and exterior appraisals of the VW ID.3. This is an 'extremely close to production' car, so there may be the odd change when it becomes available, but you probably wouldn't notice it. This video comes from the excellent independent German Autogefühl channel and the host speaks very food English, so no subtitles are needed. As usual for this channel, the appraisal is very detailed and well thought through. With almost 25 minutes for a look around a car, and no waffling, you'd expect that. Remember, you can always skip the time along:

I recently took an airline to court after my luggage didn’t turn up...

    I lost my case.

A man walks into a doctors office. “What seems to be the problem?” Asks the doc.

“It’s... um... well... I have five penises,” replies the man.

“Blimey!” Says the doctor, “how do your trousers fit?”

    “Like a glove.”

My wife asked me if I knew the difference between ignorance and apathy.

    I told her I don’t know and I don’t care.

Is this one of those “guess the question if this is the answer” games?

    OK, I’ll have a go,

How do I keep my fence upright in a hurricane?

Had a Nature annual as a kid with all sorts of facts in it about the Earth and its creatures. Never found the plants and animals overly interesting, but the bits about the Earth got me. Your cloud formation was in the book. It's a Mackerel sky = Folklore predicts a change in the weather.

Yeah, I've heard that one too. I never knew what the "mare's tails" bit meant, but I guess it's the white water that appears on top of wave crests around Force 4 and greater. The mackerel sky could help one predict the unsettled weather and the white water would be the evidence of the growing winds.

Funny, but although I've done a fair bit of sea sailing, in the Channel and around NZ North Island, since I started in the early 1980's, the highest wind I have ever encountered was a Force 9 in Southampton Water in my Albacore racing dinghy. And then it was dusk. And we only had a torch. The Southampton Harbour Master boat was running for cover but he came across to us to politely suggest that perhaps we ought to sail for the shore. I remember him leaning over his rail and seeing him about 6ft above us and then 6ft below, as he cupped his hands around his mouth. Anyhow, we nodded and yessed our agreement. He cleared off not knowing that we had not a lifejacket between us, but at least the boat was nicely bouyant. Before we got in, our jib blew out and we rollered the mainsail into a postage stamp to sail up the Itchen and into shelter. A bit of fun to be experienced once and not to be repeated. Good sea boat that Albacore. <laugh>

Doctor: “How long have you felt like this?”

Man: “Ever since I was Lidl.”

Mares' tails are another cloud formation...named because the streamers look like horses' tails.
