Good Morning. It's Wednesday 1th September, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines Moro opens up about his time at Leeds Ex Leeds striker Steve Morison has been speaking to Phil Hay about his ill fated time at Leeds. It seems the the former Norwich hitman didn't even want to come to Leeds, but felt his hand was forced. “I failed because of myself, not because of anyone else. I don’t need to tell you how much of a mess the club was, that’s a given, but I messed up. I made bad choices and I failed. “I was trying to prove a point without having the body to prove it. I was fighting a mental battle to prove people wrong. Physically, I couldn’t do it.” “Did I want to go to Leeds? No, I didn’t,” Morison said. “Ultimately my hand was forced.” Darlow available on a free next Summer Newcastle United are set to let goalkeeper Karl Darlow leave on a free transfer upon the expiry of his contract next summer, despite rejecting a substantial offer from Leeds earlier in the year. The 28yo shot stopper has been warming the bench for the Magpies this term in favour of Martin Dúbravka. Darlow and fellow barcode Jonjo Shelvey were both reprimanded in the Summer after the pair had a street fight outside a late night take away at 3am. Apparently Shelvey took exception about being called a bald c**t. What would you offer him? A host of Championship clubs are vying for position to snap up Jack Clarke in the January transfer window. The 18yo winger scored the only goal of the game for England U20's against their Swiss counterparts earlier this week which will only enhance his chances of being noticed in the shop window. Clarke has been unable to even find a place on the bench in recent weeks. Would you care if Clarke signed for a fellow Championship promotion rival in January? Morning all... I’ve no idea if our French keeper on loan is any good or not, we didn’t even get to see him in a cup game. If we have any doubts over his ability I’d consider Darlow for competition of the jersey assuming his wage demands were not great but then we all want promotion so is he PL quality? Before Bielsa I wouldn’t have cared about Dallas but he has proved to be a great utility player so I’d be happy for him to sign a new contract.
Morning all For me Meslier is top drawer and I was hoping to get Darlow in the Summer but with Meslier and if we can keep him its a no brainer for me. Meslier was voted the most outstanding young talent in France so pleased we were able to get him. Anyone remember how pleased we were when the club managed to bring Irish Wonderkid Robbie McDaid to the club. Cellino was in charge though and our academy wasnt the best and after a couple of seasons Robbie hadnt made the breakthrough so we released him. He has gone back over the Irish Sea and after living out of his car he has buckled down and got his mojo back. Scoring for fun at Glentoran where he has bagged 30 goals so far with 16 of those last season. Plenty of pundits said Robbie was special and thats why many of us were chuffed when we got him. Chuffed for him now though, well done Robbie
I’ve stopped getting excited about the young talent we sign Doc. I’m pleased we sign them but it’s just wait and see for me, I’m still left wondering why we released a few that we did this season.
Morning all Casilla for me. I think he will have a good season. Dallas talks need to start and if he keep up this form should 100% be offered a new deal.
Good Morning to Matt and co from a chilly Bardsey when will this heatwave arrive the sooner the better for me> Yes I would keep Dallas he gets on with things and seems t5o cause no problems How can Helder Costa be valued in our team as we have only loaned him same with Izzie Brown at Luton Buy this French keeper and forget Darlow Should Boycott deserve a gong after beating his girlfriend up I think not sends a very wrong message Harvey Weinstock will get one next! Pleased Doc about McDaid I hope he comes back and makes it big time
I'm still struggling to see the fascination in Darlow, a keeper that hasn't made many first team appearances, I'm not a fan of Kiko but not sure if Darlow would be an improvement. As soon as we signed Morison in exchange for Becchio, I realised Warnock had lost the plot, Morison's career had spirraled downwards, unfortunately after the transfer so did Becchio's. All the folk bemoaning the club now, ought to remember it was only a few short years ago we were in that state. I think Dallas, with his ability to adapt to several positions and his professionalism should be given an extension, even at prem level he would be useful to the squad. a 3 year deal would be fair.
Those values are nonsense Phillips would fetch more transfer fees than any other player in our squad I have to say since the arrival of Bielsa the value of our squad has significantly increased We doubled our money on quite a few players we sold in the summer. What fees would we acquire for the likes of Ayling, Cooper, Alioski, Klich, Dallas, Forshaw & Berardi now?
We didn't double our money on Pontus Roofe just about,We would be lucky to get our money back on Bamford
I think you could be right. Poch will be wanting Clarke's head sorted, & he knows Bielsa will help him re-find his place in the football world. The last thing he wants is another club picking him up, pandering to him, then ultimately dropping him when he can't be bothered producing onfield. His ability is not in doubt.
Think he would be very happy with a modest rise, no prem club would come for him, and any championship club is a step down.
It turned out Becchio refused to sign a new contract with Leeds in 2013 and wanted to move to Norwich - FACT
