Aarons was immense and rightfully awarded MOTM. Amazing last ditch challenge to prevent a certain goal. Really hope taking him off was precautionary, he didn’t look comfortable at all. Let’s hope it’s just a bruise. Ben looked solid and dependable as usual, and captained the side. He looks a real leader. Cantwell did well in his cameo, kept the ball moving, had a good shot and looked good on the ball.
Seems like it was precautionary - https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/canaries-max-aarons-allays-injury-fears-1-6261003 Hope he's fit to face Sterling on Saturday.
As Dunc hasn't posted the MDT for our game V Citeh, I'll post this here - Seems some Citeh fans are unhappy with the officials for Saturday. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/man-city-fans-norwich-referee-16890884
Mount plays for Chelsea Madders doesn't. Alternatively could be Madders turn comes tonight. Hope so as I'm going to the game.
What a good article on Leitner - for once a journo does his research. I said several times last season that Leitner looked a player who'd be more at home in the PL and so it has turned out. He thrives in the deep playmaker role where he can act as a pivot in getting the ball forward. The defensive side of his game still needs work, but we have to remember the quality of the opposition in our first four games. He was a key player against Newcastle where he was a big reason we dominated the midfield. Last season he formed a good partnership with Tettey and he may have the chance again. His ability to be in the right place to take a pass helps Tettey out of trouble and he can then move the ball on to the attacking players. What I really want to see is the partnership he makes with Amadou eventually. That's another possibility this Saturday if Handley and/or Zimmerman are fit, but Tettey would be the safer option.
That's the sort of dual role I'd like to see Ben and Amadou play for us if we play three at the back; Ben moving up from the back when we have the ball and then dropping back when it's lost whereas Amadou could drop back from DM when we're defending and move forward when we have the ball.
As soon as we got the equaliser early, I felt fine and that we should go on to win. Vital Sterling scored when he did. How he scored a header when he's 4FT is bazar!
What do you mean? Its about a football game that isn't Norwich City. It's what I started the thread for.
