Cherry picking a variety of rules to manipulate the outcome you want. That`s what happens in piss-pot dictatorships. Oh wait...….

John Bercow has arranged to make a statement in the commons. Sally Bercow is present, which hints to impending resignation speech.

Very moving scenes in the House, with Bercow receiving a standing ovation from the whole opposition benches and most of the government side. The Treasury bench remained seated and silent. Tributes from all sides continue, even Michael Gove had to say something nice, even though he sounded like he was drinking battery acid.

Usually when someone retires you think they can't be replaced but are. In this case I'm not so sure.

Who fooking-ray. Now if the EU wants to smile on me I would like them to withdraw any deal from the table. :1980_boogie_down:

Do we know who the conservatives will be wanting to replace him?

Expecting somebody completely neutral like Rees Mogg.

They tend to alternate between the two main parties, regardless of who’s in power, so it should be a Labour MP next.

Extremely well said on on all sides. Down through the years, and most recently, Speaker John Bercow has been the only member between Parliament keeling over and standing up to excesses from government. We've been quite well served in Speakers, but he's been a good 'un.

Been skipping through the excellent Parliament TV on this headline day. After most of the direct and deserved praise for John Bercow died down, an Opposition spokeperson got up and intermingled her praise with a criticism of the Prime Minister and Trump. And thoroughly deserved that was too. Bercow let her have her uninterrupted say as well.

Dominic Grieve is speaking on an emergency motion to obtain the full documentation on the prorogation and Operation Yellowhammer, as evidence he has been given means the Queen was misled. This is monumentally important stuff.
