Saw it last night and really enjoyed it. Lots of references to the 60's and the people around at that time. Funny and violent.
For several years I have looked at the German vehicle industry and wondered when it is going to wake up to change. The car industry is a behemoth that is slow to turn, and the German industry is one of the slowest. In my opinion, it is only by the fiscal might that I think they are going to survive, but it might be touch and go. They could be a victim of their own success. Even Germany's own finance minister asked the Daimler, BMW, and VW CEOs what the hell they were doing. Here's a German [in English] 30 minute documentary on how worried people are for the German car industry's survival and what precious few plans are afoot to save it:
Head hung in shame. Having lunch in Duomo piazza chatting to an English chap who cycled down from Pisa over the last 3 weeks. We'll do plenty of walking and snorkeling, I may do a couple of dives. Lotsa seafood and vino for sure!
Oh, that was horrible. Horrible, horrible, horrible. (says the BBC) Has the world come to an end? Nope. Just a bad decision by the umpire at the cricket!
Lol, you have to laugh. As you all know (because I bored you all with my holiday/birthday celebrations), I was 50 last week. My car insurance is due next week so I started looking at quotes....Saga comes in at £379 a year compared to the renewal with my current insurer of £624 and the nearest one of £501. Yep I am old officially as I will have a Saga policy. Never thought that would happen
Unless they've had a change of policy, watch out next year when they officially sting you with your renewal. Best thing to do will be to cancel then get a price from them as a new customer.
They now do a policy guaranteed for 3 years at that price! Car is 2 years old, will keep it for another 2 so that is perfect!
Good for you. They stung me a few years back. And one has tried since. I got my renewal from company once, who I phoned back to say that I'd got a better offer that was well over £150 pounds cheaper from a new company. My old company couldn't match it. Then I invited the astonished guy on the other end to guess who the new company was. He obviously couldn't, but nearly fell off his chair when I told him it was the same old company, but the quote was from their website. Ridiculous. It's an algorithm game that has nothing to do with reality, and people get cheated every year.
I am a recent convert to Big Bang Theory....I love it. Luckily it is all over Channel 4 and E4 at the moment....though out of sequence.
The characters felt more uniquely endearing in the first couple of seasons. Where you'd forgive their querky misogynistic inappropriate ways. But once Amy gets her shoes under the table, the jokes feel a little tired and forced. Just my opinion though.
I don't feel the show would have lasted 12 years without the additional actors....they gave more opportunity for story lines and character development. I liked the early stuff as well, but how long could that have gone on....they'd look like a bunch of ageing losers.
