The most horrifying thing is that this is not just a 'major political party' - this is our Government! I think they still think they're still in Eton playing pranks. What happened to the days of gravitas in politics? Did Wilson & Heath et al rubbish each other, or bring it down to a personal level? Nope, they realised that they had a very serious job to do, and beliefs to uphold, which they executed professionally. The old hands were respected, no matter their party, and it was fairly unanimous (although the wicked witch brought an end to that). I think it was the tories that started the personal abuse with Michael Foot (was there ever an easier target?), and it's gone on from there. It's most certainly not an improvement.
One of our past PMs was Churchilian in his rapier wit in the house. He once described the leader of the opposition as "a shiver looking for a spine to run up".
Yes agreed and I wasn't belittling the real problems you have out there, but this is a football (and other things) chat forum. I specifically "bolded" your "lots of wind and quite hazy" bit.
. All the fires in my area are now under control but I think it's safe to say we will retain the ashes for quite a while.
Very interesting, Could Merkel and Germany come to the aid of Boris to save their own skins?...........and will other countries follow Merkel. Going to be interesting to see what happens. https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1...rticle-50-Boris-Johnson-no-deal-latest-update
There's this too Eccers, which, if correct, verified that Parliament creating a law does not, and cannot overrule EU law. As much as I hate the EU, Corbyn's / remainers blind obsession may well work against him, and them. The longer the Brexit feud goes on, the more it hurts EU countries, especially Germany. I suspect even the EU will be glad to see the back of Britain now. They've agreed to listen to Boris's new proposal on the backstop. https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1...al-brexit-commons-remain-alliance-eu-reaction
