Ten Sovereigns and Advertise are both out of the Sprint Cup. Not a penalty kick by any means but my 12/1 ticket on KHAADEM looks pretty rosy now.

Forever in dreams looks over priced won a cd listed event and second in the commonwealth cup. Also got a feeling for restorer in the old Newton cup at a big price.

    Good morning peeps

The Sprint Cup looks a right minefield this year (when wasn't it?) I have gone with Dream of Dreams and Hello Youmzain
and just for a lark, a rfc on DoD and Forever In Dreams.

Elsewhere, I can't see past Baasem in the Heritage, and at 20-1 Worth Waiting looks an outstanding ew at Kempton.

    Good luck <ok>

  12. If we try hard enough between us we can select every horse in the Haydock 4-10. For me it is Waldpfad based on his run at Newbury. Good luck everyone!

I am leaving Haydock alone because of the soft ground, so expect Dream Of Dreams or Invincible Army to pop up in the Sprint Cup as they both owe me money!

After being tipped Spanish City a couple of weeks back in a four runner race, no word for it today back in a big field (Ascot 2:45), first time cheekpieces and an apprentice that has had 9 wins from his last fifty rides (as far as Sporting Life jockey history goes back).

In his Sporting Life column, Richard Fahey gives Ventura Ocean an “each-way chance” in that race, so at the odds a few will be looking for a bookie with plenty of places as the three year old is near the bottom of the weights and won a decent race last time. Last year’s victor Ripp Orf is back off virtually the same mark, loves Ascot (was fourth two starts back in a similar race) and just failed to get up last time. Had the topweight Tabarrak not got boxed in at Goodwood, he would likely not be running here but his 110 rating is as good as he is and he may struggle giving 6lb plus to this field. Pogo won a similar race to this at the Ebor meeting but now finds himself 3lb worse off with the third that day FANAAR. Pogo has flopped in two previous visits to Ascot whilst FANAAR (seventeenth in the race where Ripp Orf was fourth) was third in the Britannia making the drop back a furlong more of a worry.

William Haggas could be looking at a double by the time of the fillies’ handicap at 3:20 where MUBTASIMAH just shades favouritism as she returns to a mile after a disappointing run at York over seven, where Salayel was ahead of her in fourth but now steps up to a mile. The fly in the ointment could be She’s Got You, not seen since winning a five runner race in June and off bottom weight here.

I am going to pass on the 3:55 as the one I picked out is a non-runner and Cirque Royal first time in a handicap after two Polytrack wins is too short and Baasem has been clobbered by the handicapper for winning two small field events by big margins (the last one on soft ground).

I was a little slow off the mark with Khaadem after the Stewards Cup and had to settle for 10/1 on today's race. I can't complain though, with Advertise and Ten Sovereigns falling by the wayside being an ample slice of luck for a change.

I worry about the soft ground today for Khaadem and I did say after the Commonwealth Cup that Hello Youmzain might have won it had the ground been soft. He upset Calyx big time prior to that and he's a talented horse who handles the mud. My question with him would be that he's been off the track longer than looks ideal.

Dream Of Dreams stank the place out last time in the July Cup and he was not alone, as all the older horses were disappointing that day. Winner Ten Sovereigns and Fairyland cashed in that day but both were disappointing next time. I can't make a case for Fairyland today, her overall form suggests she's not at this level. Dream Of Dreams had looked very much on the up and I backed him in the July Cup, only to watch him flop. His two wins this season have not worked out and his run behind Blue Point was perhaps overrated. I feel he may be 7 lbs short of being good enough for this. Brando pops up every now and then but sometimes he disappoints and he's getting on a bit now, while The Tin Man has not looked the horse he was this season.

Hello Youmzain is heading towards favouritism this afternoon and I'll just leave him rather than cover my ante-post bet on Khaadem. I'm hopeful, rather than confident on the soft ground but Khaadem was very imposing in the Stewards Cup and his trainer is good with Sprinters, if not so hot in general considering the ammunition he gets every year.

In the 3.35 Haydock, I felt Alright Sunshine had an ideal profile as an improving sort who should appreciate the stamina test today. I can see him staying on best to land the competitive affair at a reasonable price of 11/2.

    4.10 Haydock Khaadem 10/1 Ante-Post

    3.35 Haydock Alright Sunshine 11/2

    afternoon,fellas!hope,youre well.

    haydock,2 25:

a small but good class field here, and none can be ruled out.i hope,RAISING SAND will go well,if hes ok with a much smaller field than hes used to compete.also a big step up in class, and jamie osborne stated after his last win, that hes not an easy ride, and everything has to fall into place for him.but,on the positive side,he is in grand form, and i expect matterhorn to set a good pace, which he he needs,to be seen to best effect.good chance.

I like Khaadem but fav for a G1 after winning a handicap off 107.... he doesnt have the form to be favourite imo, Waldpfad beat him at Newbury and is 6 pounds better off today.

Hello Youmzain will likely start fav and rightly so, Dream of Dreams is solid but Forever In Dreams looks the value at 11/1.
