I think it finally dawned on Turbo, that playing every week and getting a reasonable salary was a better option than moving to a first division level club and being an impact sub, which is what he was at most of his previous clubs. As Steve R says, and think he will see his contract out now until it ends and then ideally stay, but probably the level of salary will not be of his liking unless by some miracle we do get promoted.
Let me re-phrase. What makes you think he's still on PL wages? He was in the PL, but we have relegation clauses in all our contracts. Yes he's one of our biggest earners, but our wages to income ratio is sitll down around 55% with his salary as it stands. Granted that's with parachutes, but I can't imagine his salary is so ridiculous that we couldn't afford it going forward. Would effectively be a 'marquee' player with everyone else on a pittance.
The wages paid by City have been drastically reduced in the last 18 months (rightly so, I should say). 55% of a PL wage is still a lot more than the current wage structure for new signings.
Obviously I haven't a clue what he's on; I can only refer to the 'reported info' within the Daily Fail which claims that in terms of actual earnings, he along with Markus are currently the highest earners, with contracts having been awarded during our Prem Lge days. I dare say relegation clauses were inserted, but again who knows other than the players themselves and their agents. I may be wrong, but suspect both players if they had the option to stay and accepted, would be taking 'a hit' salary wise, hence believe they will move on come the end of their contract as all others who were signed during our Prem days have done
Of course, and we could probably offer Grosicki a new contract in line with our budget, but at least then we can say that we tried to keep him, rather than I suspect we will just drag it out and dick him around and not extend but also not offer a new deal.

I personally am pleased that Grosicki has got his head down and gets on with the job. It is great that he and Bowen are still here. Without them we would be in the bottom three now. I think that the same applies to Henrikson and we should get him up to speed and back in the squad. We will lose players to injury and we will need them. With regards to the contracts they are on, that was agreed between them and the club and good luck to them if they are on good money. In all matters related to contracts and renewal some of our players have been treated very poorly and with little respect shown. We are always last minute with everything including our summer business and are always behind the game at the start of the season. Terry needs more time to make the team tick. The results are not fantastic but results have been close and we can turn it round but we need our best players on the pitch performing not sat around waiting to see if they are included or not.
