Popular politicians are a rarity, and those that are are usually weak - popular Chiefs of Staff are even rarer. Whatever your opinion, discount, write off and ignore Boris and Dom at your peril.
Err about that ace up the sleeve https://www.theguardian.com/politic...ough-bill-preventing-no-deal-by-end-of-friday
I think you'll find Milky, once a GE takes place, a new Government is formed, be it a new PM or the same, this is where all the bets are off cos the new Government starts again. The same thing happens if Corbyn won the GE, he would have the power to stop Brexit, it works both ways. Problem remoaners have is, EU law does not call for a deal to be in place in order to leave the EU. The deal is between the EU and the leaving country agreeing to organise and sign off on a deal, but it's not a requirement by law. Leaving with a no deal is written into EU law and agreed too by 28 countries of the EU. While the remoaners play their games in Parliament, they cannot change, or overrule EU law. I doubt the EU countries would vote to remove the leaving with a no deal option as they would be cutting their own throats.
Try this, taken from your link. He added that Johnson would refuse to abide by the Benn bill, which would mandate him to seek an extension to Brexit until at least 31 January if, by the end of next month’s crucial European council summit, he has not secured a deal or gained MPs’ consent for no deal. “The PM will not do this,” he said. “It is clear the only action is to go back to the people and give them the opportunity to decide what they want: Boris to go to Brussels and get a deal, or leave without one on 31 October.” And this, Boris to seek GE again on Monday. A Downing Street source said the prime minister would under no circumstances go to Brussels to request an extension beyond the October deadline. “It will never, ever, ever happen, we will never do it and so eventually we will get an election,” the source said. “Watch Labour’s polling drop off a cliff when the country sees that what they are trying to do.”
Yep he also said yesterday in parliment he would abide by the law/legislation. They're trying for an election again on Monday but if that fails and they don't get any other legislation through by next Friday then any election will be post Oct 31.
They're saying that the circumstances will have changed - so yesterday Labour abstained as they want to wait until the bill has passed soa s the bill will have passed into law by Monday then they can bring the resolution again. If it fails again on Monday I'm guessing that would be that for the Fixed term act and it would be going for the amending the Fixed term act with the single line legislation 'not withstanding the fixed term parliment act' - that only requires a simple majority - but is also amendable (by anyone) so can be fixed down to particular date and with any other conditions. No way Labour are going to vote for a GE when Boris can set the date.
One of the options being discussed by Downing Street is reaching out to Victor Orban of Hungary to veto any extension so the UK would be forced to leave on the 31/10. That would be a shame
As per my previous post, you just don’t understand how our parliament works. If it was as simple as winning an election and/or forming a government Theresa Mays deal would have been passed ages ago
Teresa May was the idiot who called an election and lost her majority, if Boris had suceeded Cameron we wouldn't be in this mess and we would have already left. May didn't really want to leave, May failed to realise the reason the Conservatives won comfortably last time under Cameron was simply because he had promised a referendum. When the referendum was voted on it was pretty close, lots of scaremongering and even the government telling everyone vote remain. When the Brexiteers won, a few who maybe hadn't bothered voting were a little worried but I'll tell you now far less people are worried about no deal and leaving, far more are pissed off with the remainers and if we get an election fought on: Conservatives leave Labour on the fence Lib Dems scrap the idea we will remain Then the Conservatives will win by an absolute landslide you see, Labour are bricking themselves, they know Corbyn is detested and hated, they don't know how to approach delivering brexit and they're too scared to upset remainers and brexiteers but the truth is Brexiteers are blaiming Corbyn for this mess and he lost them long ago.
Neither do those corrupt,t undemocratic, traitorous ****s in parliament, when they can't get their own way they change the law to do just that, Thomas Mair had the right idea for these bastards
Exactly Ristac, this isn't about Brexit anymore. this is about big business and the elites wanting their way and **** the plebs whether you voted leave or remain you should take note of what these treacherous ****s in Parliament are trying to do to democracy
Yes he can repeal it - if he wins the vote to repeal it, he can’t just do it because he’s prime minister.
Apparently he can, but, I may be wrong and misunderstood. Farage said Boris can repeal the bill if he wins the GE, he didn't mention anything about a vote. A bill is a bill, it's only a delay bill, not law. If Parliament told Boris to ask the EU for an extension, he can tell'em to eff off if he wants too. All Parliament are doing is giving Boris permission if he asks for it, Boris doesn't have to accept it, or adhere to it; and the Antichrists can't make that law. Like I said previously, if Boris wins the GE, all bets are off cos it's a newly formed Government. Not so sure you do Milky, T May won on the proviso we were leaving EU, however, she didn't have a majority and had to get the DUP on board so the Tories could form a Government and Govern. T Mays deal was shot down 3 times because she wanted to keep the backstop open, she wanted to keep both feet in the EU, and she wanted to keep open borders. Tories, Labour and every man and his dog in UK did not want T Mays deal cos she was screwing everyone. T Mays deal had to be ratified, and passed into law by Parliament and the EU, it wasn't cos no one wanted it except the EU cos it was their dictatorship; that's why T Mays deal didn't get passed.
