Heskey has made over 600 apps and scored above 150 goals. While Shola has 312 apps with 70 goals. However, as you say. Heskey has also got more assists than Ameobi and they're both getting on a bit.

It says that I'm someone who is pissed off with us playing arguably one of the worst strikers we've ever had for the past 6 years.

Sorry but he's just abysmal. It's not like he offers other things besides goals either. He just straight up offers nout, and he seems to be getting worse.

For the sake of our club, I want to get something in-front of Pardew and ask him why the hell he keeps doing this. I know Ameobi is a nice fella and very loyal to the club, but we can't play him just for that. I'd even be happy sitting him on the bench and paying him his weekly wage until he retires. I just don't want him in our starting 11. Ever!

Yup. Someone who has had at least, say, 100 apps though. An EPL regular.

A petition would just be ignored and besides he must be doing something right in training to get picked every week. You's all love him when he scores against the mackems, he plays for NUFC so we should support him. Regardless of who gets picked we as fans should get behind and support the team (every member of it) 100%.

That attitude allows terrible players to make it in the prem.

So you think a petition against him playing is going to benefit the team rather than supporting the team?

He can't be though. If he's so crap on the pitch, why would he suddenly be so good in training? Every single ****ing manager has seen him play in regular matches, so why is he still picked?! It's frustrating beyond words.

I will support Ameobi as a man on the pitch, but I will not support the decision to choose him and I never will. In fact, the only reason I'd actually support him on the pitch is in the desperate hope he actually scores a goal. That's it.

PS: I bet he plays and scores on Saturday now. Ameobi first scorer, you heard it here first fellas.

I'd like to see a club which takes the peoples opinion into consideration if that's what you mean. I'd like a group of fans to directly not protest and actually just hand in there demands to the club. Or maybe to Pardew himself, hand it into the training ground? I don't however want to sit here and allow Shola to play. He's just not good enough anymore. And that as the jolly old Spanish Manager of Old would say is a "FACT"

It will benefit the team if Ameobi is no longer played.

It wasn't really a serious idea, but even if I did do something like that, it would mainly be to make Pardew realise that us mags don't seem him as some 'must play' toon legend, and we couldn't care less whether he's played or not. I sincerely hope Pardew isn't playing him on the assumption that we do think like that.

Surely this shows that he must be doing something right.

I agree he is hopeless in most matches and I'd prefer us to start other options but I'd never even dream of starting a petition against him. Thats a bit extreme.

Wasn't at the QPR match. But he didn't get clapped as he walked off did he? Didn't sound like he did on the ol' television. Should be an indication.

The only POSSIBLE thing he could be doing right is sucking off the managers in exchange for being chosen, because it ain't anything to do with his ability as a footballer.

GUYS, career statistics. Shola Ameobi, 70 in 312, scoring rate of 22%. Carlton Cole, 58 in 261, scoring rate of 19%. I've found somebody worse!!!!

Sorry, but if he was a model pro who loves the club so much, he would put even a tiny amount of effort in on the pitch.

This seems to be part of the problem. It doesn't matter if he's great to work with, or a model pro, or a great leader. He's a **** footballer, and he shouldn't be anywhere near our starting 11.

I'll always have a soft spot for Shola, and he did used to be decent when he scored 9 goals in 30 apps in 05-06. It's a decent striker record. Since then though, bar the Championship, he's been woeful. He could barely do 'it' back when he was younger, so there's no way on gods earth he's going to ever perform well when he's a month away from turning 30. His time is up and he's not good enough (and never was anyway really, but moreso now).

Thanks for the memories Shola, but keep on the bench and keep out of our starting 11 for good, unless you're desperately needed.

If it was gonna be ANYONE, it would have been Carlton Cole.

Video tributes can make anyone look good can't they? They're taking the best parts of his career and putting them in a video, it's not hard to make that look good.
