Yeah, we noticed how Villa weren't asking a pisstaky amount of money for Jack Grealish last summer...

This morning sees Bruno Fernandes indicating that hehad reached agreement with the club, only for between the clubs to fizzle out.

    https://www.skysports.com/football/...deal-with-tottenham-but-sporting-blocked-moveons

I'd guess that he was an option if we'd failed to land Giovanni Lo Celso or Christian Eriksen's touted move to Spain had come off. To top it off, add in Sporting's desire for £70m to achieve a failed transfer. I can't see us paying that for a prospective bench warmer when Dybala, Lo Celso and Ndombele were available for less.

We will be needing a top CB soon to replace our ageing Belgians...it'll creep up on us soon enough

    Fernandes Watch
Just when you thought you were out...

In an interview with Record (the Portuguese one, not the Scottish one) Fernandes says that he has agreed a deal with us in the summer, and according to him his wage demands were "reasonable" so we can speculate about what those would be - but Sporting put the kibosh on the move at the last minute because of reasons

From what I'm reading, personal terms all agreed and he was ready to come, but the two clubs couldn't agree on the transfer fee so it fell through. An all too familiar story...

Poch seems to have left the door open for Eriksen to leave between now and tomorrow night, saying 'we'll have to wait and see'. My feeling is that even if a bid comes in early tomorrow morning, we'll consider it.

Silly of him really, can't imagine he'll get a much better move than them. Maybe Celtic fancy bringing another of their former players back after signing Forster on loan a week or so ago?

Would be nice to be ITK as to the true nature of Wanyamas' fitness.
Is he now too fragile for the PL, as Dembele became ??
Cannot endure the Pochettino fitness regime without risk of re-injury ??

I think it's a mix of both I'd say, fragile so can't handle the regime.

We all know Poch loves/ loved Wanyama, he signed him for Saints and then signed him for us, if it weren't for injuries I'd imagine he'd still be one of the first names on the team sheet.

His wages would be too much for them wouldn’t it?

I heard their top earner is on £30,000 a week and Wanyama is earning around £50,000 a week at Spurs

Not sure to be honest, don't know much about their finances but I think they're in the CL group stages so should be due a decent windfall from that. I'd also presume Brugge would've known the wages factor before approaching us for him so they must've felt they could've at least offered parity (?). Guess it depends what Vic himself was wanting money-wise as well as where he wants to play his football.

They got knocked out by Cluj in CL qualifying didn’t they. They’re in Europa group stage though.

Maybe if it’s a loan then they would be prepared to pay his full wages at Spurs, I’ve just read that he’s on £65,000 a week at Spurs which is crazy money for Scottish football.
