Something like this was always going to happen in HK sooner or later. When a population has enjoyed certain freedoms for decades and is then handed over to a totalitarian regime it's just a disaster waiting to happen. Not that the UK had much choice. It couldn't have realistically granted British passports to all 6.5 million HK residents prior to handover.
not606 style democracy is the only way forward in the World. Hopefully the HK people will also obey their Chinese Great, Great, Great Grandfatherhood and go home peacefully.
They need Jackie Chan, to run down the side of a building and take out all the bad guys, with a Hong Kong Phooey chop. Panrific!
Debateable. They never had freedoms before. Tbh there are a few cases of some governmental interjection. What people are really pissed off about is the rich poor divide that's getting bigger as hk is owned by monopolies and they feel they cannot change this. Its similar to what has brought us brexit in the UK
Yeah this is going to be a bit of an issue post exit. We may not be in a position to condemn other countries as it would impact in bilateral relations most notably trade. Everyone will have views on whether it's a good or bad thing. Personally I don't mind losing deals because we've called out what we think is unacceptable behaviour but money talks and all that.
The casual racism of the English bastards on this forum sickens me. Should be ashamed of yerself Kevin.
