I say good because I hate the suing culture we are seeing more and more. If something goes wrong people don't take responsibility themselves and opt to sue a company/organisation/person. Well done Sony!!!
You are kidding, right? So, Sony say that they are not at fault for their own software and wireless protocols being breached and if you don't accept their waiver you won't be allowed to play on their network. **** sake.
No system can be 100% safe and people should realise that when you give personal details to a company you are taking a risk.

What do you not disagree with? It is well known in IT and networking that the only way to keep a system close to 100% is don't connect it to the Internet. It doesn't matter what Sony do security wise there will always be weaknesses for hackers to exploit.
No company should be allowed to waive their liability. If Sony's protocols are breached and sensitive personal information is stolen the fault is with Sony. For example, is your online banking facility not responsible for your data security? Sony forcing waivers on their customers, if as you say they are doing, is a fraud. Forcing people to absolve them of any liability in advance. Also, it seems to me Sony have shat themselves. They know their protocols are ****ed (having been breached already) and have decided that rather than fix it (cost them a huge **** of money) they have decided to force their users to accept responsibility. Really, **** Sony and **** any moron that accepts such a waiver.
It doesn't change the fact that Sony, or any other company for that matter, can do everything right in an effort to protect your information and still get hacked because every network in the world no matter how secure has weaknesses that can be exploited by criminals.

cap - hacking is a weird thing as in anything can be hacked. But mostly it is fairly safe and youre covered if it happens Sony know they have people by the gonads and they are basically bullying I agree people need to start taking responsibility, and this health and safety law is getting ludicrous due to the sueing culture but so,me things you need protection from, and if the company has been a bit blase then sue

Partly. It is impossible to secure data 100% and there will always be weaknesses to exploit in any network.
but that has always/ always will be the case would this set a precedent for banks etc? you know if you get hacked online then tough? what if sony are at fault for the hack? whats to say they will even bother getting proper security as i said too many issues, and an easy way out for the corporation
Actually I would rather sue Anonymous or Lulzsec over Sony. It wasn't Sony's fault in my eyes. It was group of people who use some made up agenda to make themselves feel superior. Sure I was angry on how long it took Sony to fix the problem but it is like suing a bank because some guy robbed it.
