Just realised that today is my first game at St Mary’s - not in a working capacity - since December 8, 2016. That was our 1-1 draw with Hapoel Be’er Sheva under Claude Puel. Quite a shamefully long time since I actually got to a home game. Disappointed in myself. I’ve been doing away games in and around London though, promise.
My concern doesn't come from his capability at left back - I'm more confused by the fact we are so weak at CB yet not using him there
Let's look at the positive here - we've got ourselves a very promising young defender who can play multiple positions.
I have no idea what formation that is! Could be 5-3-2 or 4-3-3 or 4-2-2-2 Hopefully not Hojbjerg at left back. Perhaps Cedric or Danso.
He was solid and did OK on Tuesday too, however he is very right footed and thus we carried no threat against Brighton down the left side. I can't see where our threat will come from out wide today.
We need Danso in the middle so either way it's not great. Makes me wonder why we sold Targett of we aren't prepared to use Vokins or buy a replacement.
Perhaps, but then you would have Valery on the right. This way we don't have any fullbacks that can cross! We will have to unlock them through the middle instead.
