Every Saturday we follow Looking forward to joining @Clb74 and @DickPlumb and maybe others on the trip to Reading today, along with a sold out away end. This should be a cracking trip, made even better with the news that the drummer now has a ticket, and @Beware of the Virus does not. Bowyer seems to have no selection problems, apart from who plays RB with Solly & Oshilaja having issues. Dillon Phillips could do with a clean sheet today
The Virus joins you in hoping that our sold out allocation(even @DickPlumb ) enjoy a winning display from the mighty Reds. Anyone for Southwick v Billingshurst in the FA Vase?
The day has started badly, I bumped into @Clb74 at Bromley South, he pleaded with me to reconsider and go to Reading with him.
If he's used to Aussie Rules football we could be in for quite an afternoon. Good luck to those who are going. Looking forward to another managerial masterclass from The Main Man.
He’s over here doing a University course, and has been co-opted onto our referees panel. Ask me again at 5pm whether he’s any good...
Stunning away victory. 14 points after just 6 games. Charlton are between 1/4 and 1/3 the distance to a safe points haul already, with just a fraction over 1/8 of the season gone. We are well on target to get 30+ points by Christmas. Lee Bowyer and the lads have done a magnificent job
Referee should only ever be in charge of a female football match, all he is good for; absolute nonsense, how on earth did he ever qualify as a ref?
Can only think the standard is lower in Australian football. I don’t normally bother with refs, but he was rubbish.
Fantastic day out, best away game for a long old time. First half Reading looked very handy, hit the bar and forced Dillon to make a couple of big saves, and I was happy to get to the break at 0-0. But the second half was a different match. Reading got bogged down around our box, but we were rapant going forward. The first goal knocked some stuffing out of them, while we created chance after chance. One goal was always a slim margin but we kept pushing, were awarded a penalty, and the game was ours. Still time for Dillon to make a worldy, but three great points against a good looking side. The support was tremendous and there is a real bond between players and fans building. Back to Spain for me, but that was a fantastic day.
