It’s dull watching Cardiff City at the moment, a bit toothless, Gavin Whyte at fault for the Fulham goal, not marking Fug all...looks lightweight to Masky! :emoticon-0103-cool:

All Fulham do is sideways passing in their own half and occasionally get near the box but playing that way means the opposition have so little ball, and when City got it they panicked and apart from the odd decent run by Whyte, a few lovely touches by Tomlin and Murphy’s goal, it was the usual up and under.

But we saw the dark side of Fulham after Arters pathetic dive. Time wasting, feigning injury, diving. Their manager made a burke of himself in the interview suggesting a touch is a foul! He should have castigated his brother in law for play acting as it was more likely Fulham would have gone in to win then City.

As for Glatzel he was unlucky their keeper redeemed himself with a top draw save but could he have done better with a 2nd half header and also attacking Morrison’s late header?

I’d have taken a point at 7.45 but disappointing yet again not to put 10 men away with plenty of time left.

Fulham overplay and we are just so uncomfortable on the ball.

Positives Bacuna had his best game for us.

Whyte clearly is talented and will be a good signing in time.

    Ralls mom by a distance.

We really need to change it up front.

We are just not good enough due to a poor window.

    Great atmosphere though.

    Embarrassing away support.

I thought Parker went from embarrassing to actually quite honest in his post match interview.

To say if a player is touched then it's a foul is an absolute joke. IF there was any contact from Mozza at all then it was so slight it shouldn't have even put a toddler who'd just learned to walk off balance, let alone a fully grown man!
What did for Arter was his reaction, pure and simple. His insistence he'd been fouled was pathetic. If he just gets up and on with it he stays on.

Interesting to hear the woman in the post match say she heard Arter at HT questioning the ref about the 1st half officiating. I noticed quite a few occasions where the Fulham players were trying to get in the refs ear.

The rest of Parkers interview was OK though. Interesting that he wants them to play sideways and patient (boring in my book), and I agree they were terrible 1st half but looking better in the second, yet they still weren't really troubling us much.

I honestly believe that when Sol and Etheridge come back in (I see Flinty being most likely replaced by Sol) then we'll be back to our tried and tested based.

With Pack in for Bacuna (although he did do well again last night) then that'll help.

We just need to get Tomlin, Murphy and Bobby G all linking more effectively (we are seeing flashes of it) and then we're sorted!

    Yours faithfully
    Mr Optimist Bluebird

    Good points in there brizzle.

Tomlin, murphy and glatzel starting to get to know each other, improved performance from whyte and NML still getting up to speed.

As we discussed all summer, centre mid is the area that needs focus.
Hopefully colin can find a free agent to provide an option, though the news on pack is sounding hopeful.

A bit of bleating on the fulham board about last night.<whistle>

After your 4,111 attendance on Tuesday, are you sure you should be going on about embarrassing support ?

A question of priorities Stereo. Warnock has never held the "league" cup in much esteem and his team selection reflects that. As a result the fans don't show much interest either. Also playing Luton for the 2nd time in 4 weeks didn't help.

After the Reading defeat I knew what was coming so didnt bother attending Tuesday.

I understand your point, but doesn't almost every team make wholesale changes for these matches ?
We (Swansea) made 11 changes from the game on Sunday and I think Cambridge made 7 changes.....and still managed over double your crowd and against lower league opposition.
I personally see these changes as a chance to see what else you've got as a squad and therefore very useful.

Not going engage in a pissing contest over attendances but what you're saying is basically correct about team selection for these Carabao games - virtually every club does it. Even with the wholesale changes Warnock made for our game, there was a lack of footballing quality which is not surprising given that in general, our first choices lack that as well.

Back to the attendances and comparing them. A lot will depend upon the performances in the league games to date as to whether it becomes an attractive prospect to view. In your case, it's obvious - in our case I didn't go and I suspect many others like me also failed to show up due to our patchy (and that's being kind) league efforts recently.
