I really don't understand what Fergie is trying to do with Anderson. At the start of December, he was given the nod ahead of Fletcher for a central midfield role against Valencia. He ran the show in a man of the match performance, and got the crucial equalizer that his play deserved. He then started every one of our next 4 games, and was instrumental in our 2-0 win over Sunderland. In the last 6 games though, he's started on the bench in every one apart from the Birmingham thumping. Seriously, what is Fergie trying to accomplish with him? Carrick, and definitely Fletcher are hardly pulling up any trees at the mo. In fact Fletcher has been pretty **** for whole season so far. They were utterly atrocious against Wolves yesterday. Constantly being over run in midfield and leaving the defense again and again. Ando might not have that killer instinct in front of goal, but when he was given a run in December he looked so dangerous coming forward, constantly running in behind defenders and fashioning chances for himself. There aren't many central midfielders who have as many weapons as him. He's as strong as an ox, quick, fantastic weight of pass, can run with the ball from midfield and has an energy that really drives our team on. I can't for the life of my see why Fletcher is getting the nod ahead of him. How the hell is Anderson ever expected to replace Scholes when he's given a run of games, then for no reason is shoved back to the bench for the next month.
He should be starting every game. His energy and drive is much needed. I can forgive his overhit through balls because of the qualities he possesses.
He's an attacking midfielder and should be playing there, with someone like fletcher next to him to do the defensive stuff Abit like denilson with us, both were really promising attacking players, but got moved to a defensive position and it's confused their play.
Carrick has been his midfield partner whenever he's had a good game. Carrick just tends to sit in midfield sweeping up any loose balls and letting Ando get forward. Fletcher isn't a great match for Ando because he's continually wanting to get forward all the time too. Plus he's been **** all season
