Back in 2014, Assem was still claiming only 10% of fans were against him.

That is true, although the fact that the majority did not support him changed his stance nothing to do with, in his eyes the minority being against him, a slightly different perspective I admit. It was after the FA rejected the name change that he declared no more investment,
My point is that since 2014 it has never been about the profitability of the club.

I think it was because he is friends with the woman who has the Venture group and she didn’t have enough money to enable the purchase so asked Mason and some others she knows to chip in. Whether Bolton are out of the woods only time will tell. Some people have lost a lot of money and a lot of debt was written off. Things the Allams won’t do. They are determined their “gift” won’t cost them a penny. Which is fair enough but they shouldn’t have described it as one in the first place as that was never their intention which was to make money on the back of their purchase.

Since 2014 it has been totally about the profitability of the club as he decided his “gift” was going to be repaid and wasn't going to cost him another penny and would be repaid in full. He can’t do that without profitability. Which is why costs have been slashed and they posted a profit last year despite attendances plummeting due to players being sold and the money not being reinvested. That is why we are the best run club in the EFL. Unfortunately that isn’t reflected on the pitch but you can’t have everything.

Not convinced that every thing changed (no more investments ) in 2014. The roll of the dice which was Marco Silva and his loanee's won't have come cheap.

The EFL are holding an emergency meeting in half an hour, to review/reassess/rescind the Bury decision (nobody seems entirely sure what they’re actually looking at doing).

I did see a tweet from SKY saying someone had tabled an offer and would put £9m in the bank, and asking the EPL to reverse the decision to expel them. I've tried to find it again to copy it but cannot find it.

Some pastor from Brazil who owns mining rights and is based in London. He has apparently deposited £7m into a bank account and shared with the EFL. Suggested he may seek injunction to prevent the EFL from expelling Bury?

A lot what AA did and didn't say gets twisted to suit who's ever making the argument for or against. The 'gift' was that he saved the club from going into administration at the time. Anyone who thinks he would write out a cheque for £30m then write it off is bonkers.
No-one would and no-one ever has done before.
The 'die when they want' statement. Off the cuff flippant answer to a question about the CTWD group. Does anyone, in all honestly think he seriously wanted all the clubs fans to drop dead at that moment ?
'Football should be as free as the air that we breath' Said at the time when there was talk of extending the capacity of the stadium. Never happened so we will never know.
Of course they want their initial investment back and the interest which they are entitled too. If anyone knows who lends money for free can they please let us all into the secret ?
I'd question 'the best run club in the FL' because we obviously are not when you count the number of empty seats on a matchday. But as far as debt and living within your means, we are considerably better off then a lot of clubs at our level.
The PR of this club is appallingly bad and hasn't helped at all.
The pricing structure is too complicated to work out and deters match day walks ups.
And we are heading at break neck speed down **** alley is something doesn't happen soon.
Change of policy, change of ownership, change of attitudes.

Many loans from club owners to their football clubs are interest free, even from the likes of Mike Ashley.

Very true, but there does seem to be people out there that just like the buss of owning a football club, but all I would say is that if you have that kind of money be prepared to lose it.

If £9m has been out into Bury those who put it will want £9m plus back eventually.

He did say it was a gift to the people of .Hull, didn’t he though? Gift definition, something given voluntarily without payment in return.
Perhaps he should have said I am lending some money to save the club and will charge interest. In return I want the stadium?
He is entitled to his money back, though he never said that he wanted it back originally as he obviously thought getting the stadium and surrounding area would achieve that and more. Other chairmen, Davies at Bolton, Gibson at Boro, Coates at Stoke have written off millions, but they are fans of the club and Allam isn’t. Though millions were written off at Sunderland to enable a sale as well.
Things as, you say, don’t look bright if things don’t improve. Problem is who would step in and rescue us, we are not an attractive proposition, a club without a ground in a rugby mad city.
