He seems happy enough to be on telly talking of his family links to the club and yet ( i may be wrong here ) did nothing before it came to this sad end.

We'll never know but we have struggled to maintain all our rivalries, neither Sheffield club or Leeds have ever been bothered by us, we've never built up a rivalry with Grimsby, had a short term one with Lincoln, a faux one with the Scunts, this is why the local media have to enhance the eggchasing. Imagine if Hull was situated between Middlesbrough and Sunderland?

    Don't you read his posts?
He spells words wrongly on purpose, to change their meaning.

I imagine it would be a bit colder.<laugh> Imagine how many would have gone to Sunderland instead of City were struggling and Sunderland were The Bank Of England Club. And if that were the case would Hull have been a rugby league town?

The reason The Wednesday, as they were known until 1929, weren’t included was more to do with them not being settled in a ground and steadfastly refusing to consider being professional until they had lost a lot of their players, though they had success in the Cups. Within two or three years of deciding to go professional they were in the Football League.

Big clubs aren’t too bothered about this competition.

...when there was a big intake of new clubs as the Second Division was formed and more teams were needed.

There was, for a brief period, a chance of burying the rugby town nonsense once and for all. The chance has gone and might never occur again, unfortunately.

Wednesday went straight into Division 1, along with Forest and Newton Heath. Darwen were demoted to Division 2. The First Division therefore increased by two clubs. Wednesday weren't part of a massive intake. Those were the clubs which went into Division 2,

I remember a well known City mate once saying to me after one of our takeovers or something, we are at a junction, one road leads to Middlesbrough and one leads to Darlington. Sadly we are back on that road to Darlington. At least we dined out at the top table and scoffed at the chubby lards for a bit.

To ease your trepidation Barchu - there are plastic materials that are indeed magnetic. They used to have to be at very low temperatures, but recently researchers have created them close to room temperature. Still in the early stages of development, they are round the corner to be sure.

Phil : "Hey, Gary and Tracey ! Fancy buying a sinkhole - maybe more like a black hole - in for a third ?" Good deal, honest."

Gary & Tracey: " Nah, we've found a better deal. A couple of guys called Allam are offering Hull City for around 60 million. You in for that ? They're on the up".

I shouldn't be joking like this because it's a tragic situation.

It's really good news about Bolton, not one of my favourite clubs, but it would have been a sad moment if they had fallen out of the FL.

I thought Nick Mason's involvement was because he was from there, but he's a Brummie.
