To be fair, I don't think we've space for a caribou's head anyway. We're better waiting for the Mickey Mouse cup.
seems there was a change in formation which got us back in the game, maybe he might just look to play that in the league, good effort to come back from 2 down, micky mouse cup never any good anyway.... not really bothered ...honest !
shoved Eaves up top with Magennis, also brought Stewart on at left back to stem the flow first half, perhaps he is thinking 442 for the weekend, with Bowen one of those in midfield
The Milk, Rumbelows, Coca-Cola, Littlewoods, Caravan Cup has surely reached its sell-by date. Was Burnsey on the pop?...I'm sure he kept repeating that Pennington scored their first goal... Good effort City...keep it up at the wall and give those Cockney coneheads a right good seeing to...
Leeds seemed to be taking it seriously. Big crowd, Bielsa and his assistant booked for getting too wound up on the sidelines. Shame they went out.
Well, a strange one, I was woken by the alert on my phone at full time. Bleary-eyed I looked at it, and the way it showed on the screen, being only half awake I thought we had won on penalties, as it read as follows. Preston NE 2-2 Hull City (5-4) on penalties. Went back to sleep with a smile on my face, only to wake up to reality. Made me right pissed off to be honest.
Decent City effort last night, we went 4-2-4 and absolutely buttered them in the second half. They had no answer to Bowen’s direct pace when he came on - richly deserved equaliser. Magennis was very good, I was very cautious about him but he looks a decent player in the wide forward position. Bowler wasn’t great on the other side. Stewart came on at left back and played both there and central midfield simultaneously - game changing effort and he set up most of our second half attacks. Da Silva Lopes was also tremendous - fine signing, based on early evidence.
I believe a certain guy with the name Allam has got that status all to himself for the next six months!
Disagree. We pretty much have a 2nd team that, as a collective, are not that much weaker than the 1st 11 and they need competitive games to keep them sharp for when needed. Opportunity now gone until FA cup comes around (bar behind closed doors friendlies which are never the same). Could have done with staying in this cup.
The way you word it makes it sound better than it is. The reality is we have a first team that’s about on par with a reserve team.
I know some will say it's only the cup, but this has been a chastening week for City. Three defeats and we haven't had a lead since Bowen scored at Brentford; we've just been chasing down a deficit every game since then. Really hope we can get something at Millwall.
Not meant to make it sound that way. I agree with you on this. And said exactly the same just after the start of the season (and got criticised by some for saying it). And that is a big part of our problem ..... numbers but not quality .... together with things like obvious unaddressed weaknesses at FB positions, a new manager set on a new style of play without yet having players to make it work <naive?> wholesale changes across the club yet again). We now have more depth, but the quality hasnt really improved compared to what we had left from last season once all the departures had gone. However, could well have been a whole lot worse.
