The "I prefer FIFA because it has real kits and names etc." argument is the most pathetic one when it comes to FIFA vs PES. Since at least PES 5, you've been able to edit the names and kits to match their real life counterparts. This is a screenshot of an Option File that is currently being created for PES 2012: please log in to view this image Pretty decent for a game that doesn't have real kits eh?
Yes but do we want it to be REALLY realistic? Making the game harder and harder to play with each game will frustrate most players, until only the dedicate and hardcore ones are still playing. I get pissed off on Fifa 11 when ******s score goals simply because they are using a good team, but we have to remember it's not just us that are playing, there are occasional gamers that wont be able to put in the amount of time it takes to get to grips with the new system, and most people may quit and go back to Fifa 11.
Legendary was too easy for a lot of people, so to make it more realistic and difficult is a good thing.
Exactly. FIFA and PES have gone to different ways - FIFA is intending to be a sim and PES and arcade adaptation of football. Both have got closer to each goal so it's up to you which you pick. For me, I want it to be as close to the real thing as possible, and the closer they get the more I enjoy playing it. FIFA looks good this year!
Of course i want it to be realistic to an extent, but not too difficult is what i'm trying to say. The more realistic these games are getting, the more frustrating they get.
FIFA has sacrificed fun for realism in my opinion, which is why I'm leaning towards PES this year. It's all down to personal preference though I suppose.
I prefer the challenge of realism, leave arcade to FIFA Street, or those who play fully assisted on two button controls against amateur AI.
Canny few games in, and it's really starting to feel much better. The 'chop' skill is mint, and if you connect properly with a volley they fly, not on target, as yet, sadly! I'm getting to grips with the defending, but echo an earlier post about the stray passes, even if i push left, it will roll it central to a defender. (sorry to keep invading your board, BTW, but we have nee gamers on ours, they are mainly geriatrics..)
Just played the demo.. the physics are nice but i think they have taken a step back. sure its nice to have it feel realistic.. but if it doesn't play realistic whats the point.. like Ive played for an hour and im already sick of seeing every player get the ball and spam cruyff turns the instant u move towards them.. the AI at the moment to me seems horrific.
I think Fifa 12 is pretty much perfect but i don't like the new finishing system that's all. It was fine the way it was. Yes people scored ridiculous goals at times, but the comp so far... 75% of it's goals are ****ing ridiculous. Players are unbalanced and not in the correct body position at all, and they get rocket power on their shots and it roles past the keeper who reacts 5 seconds to late... I was awesome at Fifa 11, and i'm good at everything on Fifa 12 already, but the finishing is a bugger on this new game.
Anyone else getting it? If so, say in the comments and we can do some ranked matches together and get our ranks up!!! I call sniper!
The difficulty level has been dumbed down LOADS. Apparently 'hardcore' is the equivalent of normal on the first two. Your team's AI is stupidly good, and the enemy AI is ******ed. read: http://www.gamesradar.com/video-play-gears-war-3-hardcore-normal-it-virtually-plays-itself/
Yes, but play the game before making judgements based on articles on the internet Different people see games in different ways.
I'm not saying it won't be good. I'm looking forward to it, I'll just be disappointed at the lack of replay value in the offline part of the game if it's true about the difficulty level, which if you've watched the video on that link, looks true.
