That's not very nice , I wasn't saying you were old , just a bit older than me and I wasn't going to gigs in the 70's and early 80's
It wasn't a reply to your post, just a general thing. I went to loads of concerts and saw plenty of pub bands late 70's and the 80's only remember a few of them in any sort of detail.
Nah don't remember being there. Saw Slade at City Hall a few times, and Floral Hall was that Wid or Hornsea? saw Def Leopard or Iron Maiden there I think. A Hendrix tribute band Nine at the old pub in Woodmansey whose name I can't remember. It's all a blur.
Floral Hall was Hornsea. Grand Pavilion was Wid. Iron Maiden & Def Leopard played at the GP, as did TRex & Slade at least twice. I saw The Beat & Martha Reeves & the Vandellas there & listened outside to Sham 69.
Hornsea Floral Hall: Dexys Midnight Runners supported by the Black Arabs This was when it was their boxing gear phase, post dock worker and pre traveller. The band were kind enough to give us a lift back to Hull and as some token of appreciation we helped them navigate the best way back to the A63 with one or two essential detours in the Anlaby Road area of course chortle no really Kevin this is the quickest route
Wasn’t being unkind Just wasn’t sure if your era I’ve seen Take That live and they were surprisingly good
I've never seen them live and yet I feel confident and comfortable in saying they were very ****. Very ****.
Well you’d be wrong Very good live backing band and a good ‘show’ Their music isn’t to my taste but I was pleasantly surprised. Lulu supported them too and she was also ok
Be-bop Delux at City Hall with Doctors of Madness as the warm-up. The lead guitarist with the doctors had a right paddy on and basically told the audience to £uck-off. That said they were a tight band and blew the Delux off the stage.. Johnny Kid and the Pirates at Tiffanys or some such place. Some cupid stunt lobbed a pint pot at the band and they promptly called it a night....I can't say that I blamed them.
I used to see him regularly, he lived next door but one to my brother in law who just died (Shepherds Bush).
