Good Morning. It's Tuesday 27th August, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines Ayling and Roberts put through their paces at Thorp Arch Luke Ayling and Tyler Roberts have both returned to training. The pair were videoed being put through their paces at Thorp Arch yesterday. Ayling had surgery on his ankle last month whilst Roberts had fluid drained from his knee at the end of last season Bielsa said two weeks ago that there was no timeframe for their return to competitive football, but Roberts is expected to make a comeback before Ayling:- "Week by week they are evaluating this process," he said. "Tyler Roberts will probably be ready and in the team before Luke Ayling. I cannot confirm the date. We are talking about players who are not coming back soon." Laurence De Bock's transfer to Aris Thessaloniki has fallen through. The former Belgium International was due to join the Greek outfit on a season long loan. A fee of £500,000 had been agreed between the two clubs should the loan have been successful! League One clubs can still sign players up until 5pm next Monday, while the Scottish transfer window remains open until midnight on the same date. Many European leagues have also set a 2nd September deadline for transfers Stuart McKinstry is finally a Leeds Utd player. The 16-year-old midfielder turned professional back in the autumn of 2018, and had been tracked by a number of English clubs since. Bielsa’s side agreed a compensation package that will see Motherwell receive a guaranteed fee with the opportunity to earn further, should he progress and/or Leeds sell him in the future. “In an ideal world, we would have like to have kept Stuart for a bit longer and integrated him into the first-team pool,” chief executive Alan Burrows said. “However, we were also understanding of the opportunity this was for Stuart and importantly, his desire to move there. “The deal was actually agreed with Leeds back in the spring and Stuart has been down there with his new club since this summer. But it has taken a significant amount of time to complete the paperwork and receive the necessary clearance, which was finally concluded last week. “Stuart is a local boy who has been brought up to be immersed in Motherwell Football Club. We thank him for all his efforts and endeavour whilst coming through the ranks and wish him every success in his time at Elland Road.” please log in to view this image
Morning all Young McKinstry is Jocks neighbor and has been there for a while now. He can sign real pro forms next month when 17yo and is another to watch.... As for LDB the chances are he will be allowed out on loan and could be gone to a Championship club. Anita is a greedy git and can't get the wages he is on at leeds so quite prepared to sit on his backside but has been banished from TA. Another useless spanner is Bouy who is also struggling for a move anywhere. However 4 loan moves that have happened: Mujica has only just arrived with his new Spanish club and so missed the game at the weekend. Cibicki also missed the game as just arrived in Holland - Den Haag Grot played well again out on the wing in a front 3 and his club are challenging at the top of the league - Vitesse Coyle another MOM performance for Fleetwood and sorry to say that he is one of the best L1 players but has found his level, although would love to see him at a Championship club. He deserves a great career and think we will allow him to go on a free in January. Big thanks to Jermaine Beckford for his service and goals to Leeds and wish him luck in his retirement Look at the gates for some so called big clubs who were formerly in the premier league. We were still getting over 20,000 when we were in league 1. Yes our gates dropped off to 20,000 at times under bates rip-off pricing policy but were way over 25,000/30,000 for most of the last dozen years. We see an increase to a regular 35,000 now simply because of Bielsaball but hardly a huge jump. I laugh at gobby fans from Hull where only 10,000 bother now, Blackburn 13,000, Swansea 16,000, Brum 20,000 or Cardiff 23,000. Football fans? The ones who turn up yes but the huge numbers who dont are just plastic glory hunters. We could get more from Scandinavia and Ireland if it was easier travel
Getting there for around 6pm, hopefully that should be long enough for collection and a couple of beers.
Morning all. That’s hugely impressive sales for a third tier competition and likely mainly 2nd string teams playing. Also impossible for any long distance fans to get there
Team in the Prem and a stadium big enough, how many do you see going every game? Still in the Championship how many would want to go every game because 35k now seems nowhere near enough?
Would depend on what needed in terms of rebuilding Elland Road. Not sure four east stand type structures would add to atmosphere. Would be great if it could stay as it is but that’s no practical in pl of course. I suppose 45 to 55k would likely be the norm
